You have to love the shots of the wilderness and the overall dark tone of the show. Sometimes it reminds me of the great fist season of True Detectives, with its slow tempo and yet engaging story.
Now and then things get a tad too slow, or some scenes look a bit forced and implausible , and that takes away some enthusiasm . Also some side stories are a bit unnecessary and don't add much to the story itself, but overall despite the slow pace and the ending which in my opinion is a bit weak, this is a satisfying show.

This is a very powerful story with a strong message. I guess some reviewers didn't understood that it's a true story and criticize some aspects of the movie but if it's based on actual events , then it has to tell the story that actually happened .
I liked the way it is shot, the kids story, the youngster story and even the more religious part of the story. They all add to the overall feeling of the movie. Wish they only didn't chose Quaid for the father role but he acts good enough although I would prefer to have a less known actor ...
The acting is very good, the story is very good and inspiring and yes I'm rating it as a 10, not because I absolutely loved the movie but because I think it really deserves better than the sub 7 rating it has now.

I confess that the first season surprised me, although I remember the ridiculousness of the VIP acting but also their horrible lines. Nevertheless it was a refreshing and entertaining tv show which I would rate as an 8. After what I thought it would be a nice ending to the series, they added two more mini-seasons. The second season was ok, they added more enjoyable and not so enjoyable players and also they added some crew members story, plus the team trying to find the island. It was a nice touch and overall I would keep an 8 as it keept being a nice idea and concept. And then there came the last season : everything was so predictable ! You only didn't knew how it was going to happen but you knew what was going to happen! The baby thing was ridiculous , but ok, it's a dystopian story, many decisions where dumb, like the ones made during the last game , and yes , again, the VIPs came to ruin some minutes with those cheesy and ridiculous lines and horrible acting. The ending was kind of void and lacked any impact, but then, my levels of enthusiasm where already pretty low.
Overall I liked Squid Game, I had lots of hours in front of the tv with enjoyment and fun, and I recommend it : even if the last season is weak it completes the story and closes a very nice concept .
