I wasn't entirely certain about what to anticipate. This movie had remained relatively obscure in my awareness, but upon discovering its inclusion in Tubi's list of top films, my curiosity was instantly piqued, compelling me to delve into its storyline. As it turns out, this film is an engaging thriller. Crafted within the heart of Hoboken, New Jersey, it offers both the thrill of suspense and the enjoyment of an award-winning creation. The iconic cityscape of Hoboken serves as a backdrop, enhancing the viewing experience.
Commencing with a sense of lightness, the movie soon takes an unexpected twist. The narrative unravels with numerous unforeseen intricacies, which pleasantly caught me off guard. The alternating rhythm between moments of tension and moments of levity, skillfully interwoven, contributed to my overall appreciation. The consistent back-and-forth structure kept me engaged, as it presented an array of eerie sequences and lighter interludes. Throughout the film, I found myself consistently engrossed, my mind challenged to predict the unfolding events. It's a must watch from me.

I'm impressed. The criminal case is interwoven with the technological and economic advancements of the early 1830s blew me away. Thorough, captivating historical settings as you gain insights into the construction of railroads in Northern Germany. An intriguing detail emerges in the portrayal of a mechanical copying device, a technology entirely unfamiliar to me.
Undoubtedly, this film is a valuable viewing experience, catering not only to enthusiasts of historical discourse but to a wider audience as well. I eagerly anticipate Udo Flohr's next cinematic endeavor and hold hope that he will continue to work with the same actors from this film.
