  • Under-appreciated

I can't believe some of the reviews I'm reading - so negative! I love this movie. I realize that to watch it now may leave the audience disappointed - but when it came out back in the 90's, this movie was fantastic. The script gave you just enough about the characters that you were able to draw more from their actions to see their vulnerability and insecurities. There are quite funny moments, sweet, sad and interesting. For me it was great to see these characters learn about themselves and what they wanted. I enjoyed this movie very much - and while it may not be Oscar-worthy or ground breaking, it remains one of my favorites.

  • I won't forget anytime soon...

I saw the rating on this and wasn't sure I should bother, but I went ahead and watched it and I'm glad I did. The plot is interesting. I'm happy to see that there are some original ideas out there yet for horror, and it isn't all remakes. The acting wasn't bad, I really enjoyed the plot, and the effects of the creatures in it were awesome. I actually yelled once out of fear, and that rarely happens. Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the film, having never heard of it or heard about it. It's not the greatest horror movie of all time or anything, but it's worth a watch as long as your expectations aren't too high.

  • Loving this pleasant surprise!

I was skeptical when I first saw the previews. I thought, "This looks like The Witches of Eastwick." Which, it turned out, it was. I immediately wondered how on earth they would be able to drag the story out long enough to create a series. I'm also not the biggest fan of Rebecca Romijn, and wasn't sure if they would destroy the love I have for Jack Nicholson in the role of Darryl in the film - but I had nothing to worry about. Rebecca is hilarious and Paul Gross is brilliant as Darryl. Granted, my expectations were low for the pilot, and I was surprised at how much I loved it. These actors work well together, their relationships are believable, and some of the lines have made me laugh pretty hard - all adding up to a good time. I am thoroughly enjoying the series so far - and I hope it continues to be as good as it has been.

  • Not too shabby...

I was surprised at the low score on this film. Granted, it's not the greatest movie of all time, but it wasn't bad. I jumped a few times and I thought the effects were pretty good. I hadn't heard of this movie until I stumbled upon it on pay-per-view. I was surprised to see a few recognizable faces in the cast, and decided to give it shot - despite the awful rating on here. And I'm glad I did. The acting was good, the characters were likable, and it was scary at times. It was a fun adventure to watch - and while not the most original thing ever, I thought it was a great concept and fully enjoyed it. I wouldn't buy it, but I'm glad I saw it, and would recommend it to others. There were even a few times where I actually said "that's cool" out loud. If you like a little blood and gore and a few jumps, watch it. You won't be disappointed.
