My humble views only One of the Greatest Indian films ever, great realistic story, 5 Greatest songs perfectly picturised,superbly sung, arranged brilliant by laxmi nd pyare... all side cast po perfectly selected, Masterpiece of the Indian Cinema . I've never been so emotional while watching a movie....but this one just takes u with the flow...the tragic takeover in the life of two friends... Flawless acting by the actors.

I could connect to this movie on various levels, it made me cry all throughout. It is a classic and shouldnt be compared with any other movies, applaud the cast and crew for trying to tell disturbing things that are going on in society which everyone is silent about. The climax could have been a little better, felt like it was rushed but Only people who can connect and try to understand will like the movie so if others find it worse or predictable and compare to other movies like Dear Comrade, then they havent experienced any childhood trauma or caste differences in their lives. Really fantastic Movie.

Overall, the series is a great show with a clever, yet subtle, message that is conveyed through terrific wit and slapstick. See it for the wonderful performances of the performers and the hysterical situations that will have you in splits throughout the film.
