As a latina i appreciate this movie for the culture and diversity. The story is great but couldve been stronger. The ending came a lot faster than I thought it would and sort of resolved itself? Idk, just overall underwhelming. Now the music on the other hand...AWFUL omg my friends, my mom and I have skipped through all the songs. Theyre incredibly annoying and just vomit out words at 100mph. We Dont Talk About Bruno is prob the only tolerable one. Im already not a fan of Lin Manuel Mirandas music and I felt that Vivo( another movie he worked on) had the same problem, the characters and songs have ADHD x10. The characters seemed overly goofy and cartoony in an attempt to be quirky but it ruins scenes when one moment its serious and the next someones making goofy faces and noises. Ugh I see a lot of potential and I really REAlly want to enjoy the movie but cant stand the hyper animation.
I was really ready to see some black women kicka$$ and do business but it's only gotten more disappointing with each episode. This show is 90% fumbling the bag and petty gossip/bickering. The other 10% is showing off beautiful Tampa and the women's bodies. How is this empowering at all?
