  • Spielberg does it again

Steven Spielberg's ability to churn out one great film after another never ceases to amaze me. So it's no surprise that what's essentially his autobiographical film would be great and hold its own with his classics.

Almost all the things you can get right in a film are present in this one. The cinematography is phenomenal (shocking, I know), John Williams gave us another fantastic score (again, shocking), and despite what others may say the acting and casting is amazing. There's not a single weak performance to be found here.

The story may seem like it doesn't have a purpose but as long as we slap the good ol' "slice of life" label on this movie it's completely justified. The family conflicts feel real relatable despite that fact that most people watching this movie aren't filmmakers.

There's only one problem that I have with this movie and that is pacing. I feel like a lot of the time spent on the family could've and should've been spent on Sam and his films.

Tl;dr: Good acting, good cinematography, good score, bad pacing.

  • Candidate for best game of all time

You read the title. This game has no right being this good. The voice acting, almost all of which is done by a SINGLE PERSON, is fantastic giving each character their own charm and personality. The writing is extremely witty to the point where I showed my parents this game and they enjoyed it. Of course the greatest character of all (other than Charles) is the text the appears on the fail screen. I cannot stress how brilliant this is and how much it adds to the game (I won't elaborate here because this would be 30 paragraphs long). I could go on and on about the references and the simple yet fun and effective choices and branching paths system that governs the game but all you need to know is please buy this game. $15 is a bargain because this game is priceless.
