This movie is good! I read that its pace is slow, boring, and you have to wait until the very end for something to happen. That its only good feature is the visuals and the rest is without any point. And that all in all it is a spectacular pointless empty nothing. Oh COME ON! After watching the movie, I believe the hate is targeted and biased.
Because the movie is really good! It gets into the point in the first minute! The characters introduction is really well structured! Visually it is stunning! The performances are great! And most of all, it breaks really successfully from the classic Marvel stories, and sets new foundation for the future movies!
Seriously, don't listen to all the hate. Have in mind that in IMDB it started with a rating of 5.8, and it increases everyday. I seriously believe there is targeted action to influence the public's opinion for this movie.

This is a surprisingly good addition on Netflix. The costumes, sets and acting were really good. The really pleasant surprise on this, was that they chose to use Latin and German as languages, instead of English (like every other show, where people from different tribes/countries, speak miraculously all the same language).
First of all, let me say that I avoid video games, since when I play a game, I dont communicate with the rest of the world, and I hate that. The Assassin's Creed games, always seemed tempting to me (game about assassins in medieval times? fucking awesome!) but I had never played one.
So I was enthusiastically waiting for this movie to come out. I watched it in the theaters and I was disappointed. I don't remember what had bothered me most, but I think the storyline felt odd.
Anyway, during covid19 lockdown, when I suddenly has tons of free time, I played Assasin's I, then II and I decided to rewatch the movie. It did not seem as bad as it seemed the first time.
The pros: 1. The characteristic Assassin's Creed game adapted scenes, i.e. the free running scene, the fights, the leaps of faith. Those were awesome, and very nicely done. 2. The movie serves as a good backstory for more Assasin's Creed movies. If there will be such movies. 3. The movie Animus is far better than the game Animus.
The cons: 1. Too much time spent in "today" instead of the past. The plot allocation was like 30% in the past, 70% in the present. It should be the opposite at least. There was no point in showing Lynch's parents storyline, and also why on earth, was the final battle for the apple of Eden in the present instead of the past? 2. The movie also fails to explain one major detail, even though it has spent so much time in the present. That the present person who is synced with his assassin ancestor, simply acquires his ancestor's skills. It is shown, it is never mentioned though.
Anyway, the second time I enjoyed it much more than the first time.

I would like to review this like a standalone movie, but it is impossible. And since it was heavily promoted as the "much awaited remake" of the original, there is no need to review this as a standalone movie.
1. The effects are really good. How could they not be? 2. I hate to say this, but what was the problem with the voices? Most of the characters dialogues felt like they wrongly synced with the video. Only Timon and Pumbaa felt right. This is unfortunate since I could barely watch the whole movie without being annoyed by this, and it's a shame since I could barely stand Zazu (voiced by John Oliver, whom I love!). Eichner and Rogen were on the other hand a pleasure as Timon and Pumbaa 3. The movie took absolutely no risk as a remake. There was nothing new added, and most of the movie scenes were simple copies of the original movie scenes shown through a different medium. So what was the point of making this in the first place?
All in all, if you haven't watched the original, it is fun to watch. If you have seen it, skip this, there is no reason to waste your time with this. Furthermore, I know with which version I am going to introduce my kid to Lion King, and this is definitely not the one.

Just finished e02. I never play games but during quarantine I got tempted by this.
So far it is awesome. The graphics aren't good for a game of 2014 ( ok I have seen games even though never played them) but the story is captivating. Definitely suggest this.

Because of the negative reviews. Seriously this is a golden example of a misleading rating. Great direction, great perfomances, great story with plot twists. The only reason not to like this, is because one may disagree with the message of the movie. I consider the average movie viewer, mature enough to tell a good a movie, regardless the message.
Seriously don't miss this.

Hungry Hearts, is the story of Judd and Mina, a young couple who met by accident, got into a relationship and eventually got married and had a child.
Mina, the mother of the child, while pregnant gets convinced that her child is an "indigo", a child with special abilities, who was brought to this world, to save it. She also becomes obsessed with the baby's cleanness and purity, and avoids taking the baby out, feeding him properly, and doesn't let anyone touch him, if he/she was just outside. Judd, the father of the child, grown more and more worried about the child's health, due to Mina's obsession, and he starts acting on it. He takes the kid to a modern doctor (against Mina's wishes), he starts feeding him in secret and takes him out on strolls. The different stances on the baby's growth, brings tension between the couple, who start acting against each other, in order to gain the control on the kid's upbringing.
The story is really interesting. It brings forward the absurdity of the antivax, antimed movement that has gained in popularity the last years. I would have preferred to see more of each sides pros and cons, about why they chose to raise their child the way each of them wanted.
Both protagonists were really good. Alba Rohrwacher as the obsessed mother, who wants to keep her child as pure as possible, even if that endangers her child's health. Adam Driver as the concerned father, who battles between being a supportive husband and responsible parent.
What was a shame in this movie, was the direction. It is quite bad. The whole movie felt like it was a first year direction student's semester project. Also it included a few shots that made the movie feel like a horror movie, when it wasn't. I am not sure if that was intentional, since a mother who oversees her child's health to keep it pure does sound like a horror story, but it just didn't work.
There was lots of potential, which was wasted unfortunately. I gave a 7/10 (even though I wanted lower) only because the acting was very good, and I also follow the whole absurd movement of people who turn their backs on medicine, and it was quite nice to see a movie about it.

I was not prepared for this. Since the first minute I got so into the story, and felt so close to both the main characters, and I didn't see it coming.
Direction is amazing, the acting by both protagonists is superb, especially Driver who is STUNNING!
During their fight scene, I felt like I had stopped breathing.
The only "bad" thing with this movie, is that Driver deserves all the awards for his part, but he will probably not win anything, because Phoenix will dominate the awards this year.
Make sure not to miss this.

I had this movie in my watchlist for months, but I avoided watching it, because of all the negative reviews.
I have absolutely no idea why so many people have rated this movie so low, because it is awesome!
I am a fan of horror comedies and this was a great one. Great storyline, great cast and great direction.
This is GENIOUS! Amazing comedy, incredible laughs, and what a GREAT combination of the two stories. I couldn't stop laughing. Don't be affected by the 6.4 rating, there are many angry Christians among the reviewers.
First of all, I will start by mentioning the obvious: The negative reviews are by not-so-bright Greeks who can't review a movie for what it is, but for what it shows. The summer of 2015 was a pretty heated period in Greece, and many people have not forgiven the politicians involved.
About the movie. Don't expect a masterpiece. It is not. However it is a decent representation of Varoufakis's point of view, which on each own, is extremely interesting. Loulis's performance as Varoufakis is the strongest asset of this movie in my opinion. Bourdoumis was very good as well as Tsipras.
Photography was good. Editing was good. I found the sound editing irritating, like I do in most Greek movies (why is that? Any greek production sounds weird to me, like they can't keep steady the volume of the voices spoken).
7/10 from me.

I honestly don't understand all the hate. This was a great episode! Plot Twists, action moving forward, what more do people want?
I've talked to people who have been watching GoT, and they are really disappointed after the events of the Long Night.
WTF were you expecting, all your theories coming true??? Well that wouldn't be GoT wouldn't it?. We are two episodes before the end, and no one has the slightest idea of where this is going. Well, THIS IS GAME OF THRONES!
Unfortunately the last season's reception is doomed by the series's huge success. People are not happy because everyone was expecting something different for 7 seasons. Now that it concludes, and their predictions are wrong, they get upset. It's a pity, because the whole production has managed to keep us at the edge of our seats till the very end.
