Yes, it's a typical first love teen drama. There will be no surprises. However, I promise, you will get invested in the story and the characters. Enjoying their highs and their lows. The two protagonists didn't make life easy and at times you will want to bang their heads together. I guess that's why it feels real. The acting is superb. Story and characters nicely developed. The well written script ensures this drama moves along at a good pace. I was hooked from the start. Pure escapism that is well put together and believable. Yes, as expected, strong matriarchal women and confused teenagers navigating life...afterall this is inspired by a Judy Blume book. The writing exuded charm, angst, frustration, uncertainty and vulnerability exactly where needed. This, for me, gave Judy Blume's story a push into the modern world while at the same time keeping the ethos of the original book. I am looking forward to season 2.
It was terrible. It didn't flow, the script was awkward and I am not entirely sure what the story was trying to convey. Romance, teenage, mystery or thriller???. It was all over the place. The characters were shallow and were as real as a Gucci handbag from Hong Kong ladies market. I never write reviews but this had to be written as it was so bad. I had to warn others. You will never get the time back. Much better stuff out of Spain to watch. Was the script and plot being written as they filmed? I can't even describe the acting at times. Wooden makes it sound good. I know this is the result of someone's creative baby...but it is really bad and the end...well the conclusion very cliched. You won't be surprised...just relieved it's over!
