  • Expanding the lore but with terrible writing

I generally enjoyed the expansion to the Terminator lore. We get the point of view of Skynets take over from another country. But the writing and the characters were very bad. I thought their development and motivations were extremely basic. All of the characters. I have seen all these stories before and all these types of characters as well. It was very tedious to watch the same stories again and again. And the worst part is the lack of explanation and the just trust me approaches to critical problems. This show was exhausting and I only finished it because I don't like abandoning shows before they last episode. Summarily, great concept but the execution was lacking....

  • A hidden gem of a show.

I just discovered this hidden on Netflix. It is not a groundbreaking television show that you must see but it is definitely worth your time. I enjoyed the mix of the superhero with the supernatural genre. It delved into some interesting complexities surrounding myths and the type of human fortitude it takes to overcome your deepest fears.

  • Wayne Brown: a man worth knowing

Unfinished Sentences explores the life of Mariel Brown's deceased father, Wayne Brown, a prolific West Indian writer. The tumultuous father daughter relationship spans decades, pressed against the background of Trinidad and Tobago's highest point of social unrest, the Black Power Movement.

The film's introduction describes it in three words, 'An exploration, an explanation and a reconciliation'. It appears the intent of the director is to tell her story while finding herself after the death of her father. The film is beautifully crafted with the use of interviews, narration, re-enactments, intertitles, still photography and news clips which reveals a poetic biography of Wayne Brown.

Brown creates a fascinating documentary that strays from the conventional bio-pic, she overwhelmingly involves herself in the story. The impact Wayne had in her life as an important figure, a loving father in her childhood there is an expectation of the film to act as a tribute to his life.
