The concept of this film is very interesting but the execution lacks so much. The characters are not fleshed out well - especially the lead character, John Young. I think if the audience had gotten to know a bit more about John In the past It would have made a greater impact in the present. (Think Connor MacCloud in the film "Highlander.")
The time spent on the college kids would have been better spent on defining the story. The kids just seem more as extras.
It's truly a shame that this movie missed the mark so much, as it really had a great story to potentially tell. I would love to see another writer tackle this.

After watching the first six episodes, I keep hoping this show will grow on me. I really liked the Georgie and Mandy's characters on "Young Sheldon", but the actors now seem to be playing caricatures of those characters - it's like they are silly versions compared to how they were played on "Young Sheldon". I don't know if they're overacting or playing for laughs - but something just isn't working.
And definitely get rid of the canned laughter. It is annoying as he'll.
Nothing against the actor but the character of Mandy's brother is useless and does not contribute to the story lines. Same goes for the shop mechanic.

I first saw this movie on cable TV back in the early '80s and taped it. I was one of the early video recorder owners and fell in love with the film and recorded it. It was titled "This Time Forever". I'm not sure why it's showing up on IMDb as "Yesterday". Regardless, I had taped it and watched it quite a few times over the years until 2004 when I lost my video collection during a move. I was so happy to find this on YouTube (as "This Time Forever". The emotions came flooding back as if it was the 1980s all over again. It is interesting to look back on this cultural aspect of the Vietnam War when some young American men opted to migrate to Canada as opposed to participating in an unpopular war. It still brought tears to my eyes.
