This is the best, except maybe "Mannen På Balkongen", of all the movies in the "Martin Beck"-series of films with Gösta Ekman. I have only one thing to complain about and that is the end. It is a little "too much". The actors are great though. Gösta Ekman is maybe the best Beck ever, and Rolf Lassgård as Gunvald Larsson IS the best ever. Kjell Bergqvist is as usual also very good, and so is also the rest of the cast. It's a very good movie up to the not so good end. 6/10
This movie starts with a murder on a restaurant in Malmö. Martin Beck (Gösta Ekman) is sent down from Stockholm to investigate. They finds out that the murderer had escaped to Denmark but now is on his way back to Sweden. He is on a plane that will land in Bromma in Stockholm, so the police sends a car to pick him up. But on the way the policemen who is about to arrest the murderer stops on the way because of a kid who had said some stupid things to the cops. Because of that they dont get to the airport in time. That is maybe the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen in a movie and after that it is hard to take the rest of the movie serious. But Ekman, Lassgård and Bergqvist manages to keep the movie on an acceptable level.
Gösta Ekman as Beck, Rolf Lassgård as Gunvald, Kjell Bergqvist as Kollberg and Niklas Hjulström as Benny Skacke. The best group that have ever played Sjöwall/Wahlöö's investigators? Well, at least they are not far from it. This time they have to find a serial-killer that murders young girls in the parks of Stockholm. The director Daniel Alfredsson is a talented director and he knows how to make a thrilling movie. And this is a very good movie. I highly recommend it.
