There's not one character here that I would spend five minutes with in real life. They are all morally bankrupt. One or two of these make interesting viewing, but when a show is completely devoid of a moral compass, it is uncomfortable to watch. There's no one to route for. It is no wonder that after six seasons not one major award has been given to the show. It is not the actors, it is the storytelling (writing) and unrelenting greed that make this show unwatchable.
Disappointing. There's nothing new here, which would be okay if the casting and writing weren't so lackluster. Not camp enough to be funny, not serious enough to be compelling. Gay junk food with Tiffany pretentiousness.
Yes, talky and single-minded in concept, but Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack bring something special to it. The scene between Nancy, Leo, and the Waitress is well worth waiting for. On the surface, the film is about body positivity, but there's more to be discovered during Nancy and Leo's not-so-brief encounters.
