  • Disappointing

Kinda crappy. Weak script. Some of the gore was cool, but I wouldn't shell out ten bucks for it as is. The Lion's Gate people tried to get people excited at Toronto, but it was a little disappointing. Ran into some of their people later who said the director threw a fit and had to be baby sat through the festival. Kinda funny for a horror guy to need a babysitter. Always amusing to hear the 'office gossip' at these festivals. I was hoping for a better film, however. Actually, I heard the director was kind of a handful on Cabin Fever, too. There was a really awful draft of the sequel to that one that Lion's Gate refused to even consider. It was so bad it was comical. So they made the guy do this one. Not sure about this, but I also heard someone at LGF wrote this one and they paid him big bucks to slap this guy's name on it, to keep him happy. In any event, I really love the genre, and had high hopes for this one. Loved the premise, but it just doesn't deliver.

  • Who are they kidding?

These comics are just not very funny. Even Jay Mohr's material is pretty lame, and he is supposedly an established comic. I think he's a better actor than stand-up. I usually like him in films. And you know they edit everything down to just the best stuff, so it must be pretty painful to watch an entire taping. It just goes to show stand-up is a very tough thing to master. I know they have to fill up an hour, but the stupid Survivor type stuff is dumb. If the comics they chose were funnier, they could have an entire hour of routines and just vote like American Idol. But then they would have to have a helluva lot more material that was actually funny. It seems to me a stand up should have a solid half hour at least if they want to make a living at it. None of these qualify, except maybe the bald guy with the glasses. He's the only decent one on the show. As for the rest, they are real snoozers.

  • Absolutely hysterical!

I saw this film as a child over 30 years ago, and I still remember many specific moments from it. I found it absolutely hysterical then, and still do today. Vincent Price and Peter Lorre are terrific. Lots of broad slapstick, but a lot of funny smaller moments and asides that work very well, also. I read some of the other comments, some who thought it unfunny. They are crazy. See this movie!
