This film was the first movie I ever saw and cried watching. It's an adaptation of the classic play by Euripides, Iphigenia at Aulis. The cast was wonderful, and the cinemotography was spectacular. The story of a young girl caught between her fears and the country's will, one cannot help but cry.
Marilyn Monroe's magic will never be re-created by another actress. But the film makers thought they could do so. They got Mira Sorvino to imitate this mortal goddess, totally insulting her in doing so. Marilyn was not ignorant, she only played those parts in the cinema. Marilyn went through psychical, sexual, and emotional abuse as a child, and this movie seemed to almost make fun of that terrible tragedy. There is so much more I could say about this terrible movie, but don't have enough time to.
