Moonbeam-5's rating
I was lucky enough to catch this one morning on IFC, and I'd definitely have to recommend it. It opens the viewers eyes to the pain of being culturally different, ignorance, innocence, and stereotypes. Wonderfully written. Hopefully this movie stirs a little bit of thought about how we perceive and treat other human beings. We all feel the same....
During the course of what I'd assume is around 20 hours (movie time), I saw a bleak yet wonderfully varied spectrum of human emotion, all surrounding one woman struggling in many ways with the handling of her ongoing struggle with cancer. Considering the film is only about 20 minutes long, this is an incredible feat. I'd definitely recommend catching this on IFC if you can. The last line is incredibly thought-provoking. Keep an eye out!
Oh goodness where to begin. First of all I don't think they should have made a sequel. Granted, Jack Frost (I) was pretty funny, a cheesy tacky tasteless holiday movie that everyone can make fun of. But the second .. come on. It was hard to sit through it was so bad. And I promise I've seen plenty of cheesy horror movies. The killer mutant snowman somehow makes his way in water form to a tropical island and spawn killing snowball babies that attack the cast of bad actors? Yeesh!
The plot - I've seen fewer holes in a block of swiss cheese. The cast - I'd be embarrassed to be in this. The editing - What editing? Good torture method? - Definitely.
I think if I see a Jack Frost 3 .. well, I know I won't bother to rent it. I've polluted my mind with enough of killer antifreeze-resistant snowmen! Save your money. If you want the cheese factor, stick with the original.
