  • Powerful, brilliant piece of filmmaking

'Il Ladro Di Bambini' is one of the most moving pieces of cinema I've ever seen, and it reminds me so clearly why I love film. I've just seen it, and I'm still very emotional over what I saw. The children play the roles perfectly, and Enrico Lo Verso's performance is brilliant as well. It's such a simple film actually, but so incredibly powerful. The scene where Luciano tells Antonio that he'll come looking for him as soon as he's turned 15, no matter where he is, made me cry. This is a true, honest film about trust, that I will treasure for a long time to come.

  • Provocative, ingenious storytelling...

Star Trek Deep Space Nine is the best Star Trek series yet, and one of best television series ever made. DS9, as it's called among fans, outgrew it's predecessor The Next Generation by introducing many recurring characters, complex alliances and conflicts and a story arc that span throughout seasons 3 to 7. Frequently (and undeservingly) compared to Babylon 5, DS9 is a show about it's characters. And what characters they are! Sisko finding his place as the Emissary to the Bajoran people; Odo learning his race are the leaders of a vicious enemy; Kira coping with her past as a terrorist; Bashir struggling with his genetic background...I could go on and on about the beautiful dilemma's that were being handled so well on the show. Also, DS9 has put numerous races to great use; the Klingons, the Romulans, the Ferengi and the Dominion. The scope behind the show has always been so much bigger than on The Next Generation.

Apart from the engaging story arc, DS9 has produced some of the greatest hours of television ever made. Episodes like Duet, The Visitor, Hard Time, Children Of Time or Far Beyond The Stars are so immensely powerful, that nothing Babylon 5 has done has even gotten close. Surely, the story arc on Babylon 5 is worked out a lot better, but the writers of DS9 never had the intention of developing a story arc of that kind. Stand-alone shows have always been important on Star Trek.

It's so undeserving that there's so much negative response to this fantastic show. I guess the 'Star Trek'-franchise has become too big to just be reviewed by loyal fans (like Babylon 5): no, everyone seems to have an opinion now. Most of the negative critism is complete nonsense to someone who's watched the show from the beginning, but I guess I'll have to live with it.

  • Voyager will become the best...

I've never quite understood where all the negative criticism towards this beautiful series came from. Voyager is a deeply moving sci-fi show in the best Star Trek tradition. It's all about a feeling of unity, a feeling of family, of friendship and love. Voyager has become a home of warmth and it's crew have become an inspirational community that makes me feel good watching them.

I like the stories told on Voyager, and the characters are sincere. For everyone who tries to knock Voyager down with simple words, I can only say this: watch the show, understand it's meaning and be amazed.
