Seeing "Escape From Sobibor" for the first time in Ten years gave me a new insight.First let me say that I have relatives who survived Death Camps,so I cannot watch it and distance myself emotionally as many can.
After seeing "Schindler's List",and real Death Camp footage,I almost forgot about this movie.I was taken by the slow but even pace of the film,it really built you up to the ending. The acting from everyone is excellent, and the suspense has you clinging to your seat.
I would like to see a modern re-make made.Keep in mind when you watch this movie that the atrocities shown, are only a small fraction of what really happened.I'm not saying that it isn't complete enough,it's just that you can't fit everything in a 2 hour movie.

I have enjoyed this movie a bunch of times now, very good film, very believable.Timothy VanPatten looks a little too "Hollywood" in the picture.Roddy McDowall gives a superb performance as a biology teacher fighting alcoholism and Perry King is excellent too.
A pretty good film, slow moving. Andy Kaufman steals the show as: Armageddon T Thunderbird a Televangelist.Andy Kaufman rehearsed for this role in London's "Hyde Park" and in New York City.
