  • Better than "Blame it on Rio."

I saw both in the theater, and preferred this to the remake. It's so long ago, it's hard to be specific. But the characters seemed to be less of nitwits.

  • Pretty good old film.

I got the film from the library...Charles Boyer was sufficiently suave, and Danielle Darrieux was lovely. The film gives the "official version" of the events; a love murder-suicide. The history that has come out suggests murder in the real world. My wife, who doesn't know the story, enjoyed it "Much better than I thought I would." Now I have to look up the Omar Sharif and TV versions. I'll rate it a 7.
