There were not many redeeming qualities to this movie. The opening scene made it look like it might have some promise of a real plot. But it ended there, and just became a silly waste of time. It wasn't a horror film. It wasn't a comedy. It wasn't good.
The "special effects" honestly looked like they were put together in somebody's basement with props from the Spencer's Halloween Store.
The characters are silly cartoons of airline passengers. The plane had all the requisite passengers, even on a nearly empty flight.
If you want to see requisite movie passengers, Airplane is a much better choice.
The actors, some of which were actually good, who were given such a terrible script to work from, were probably embarrassed to be practicing their craft in this one. There was a real lack of continuity as to where in the plane characters were, and the spaces within the airliner.
Watch out for this one! You could absolutely find better ways to spend an hour+ than watching this flop.

Anyone who gave this disaster more than one star must have been rating it on the bare breasts in the movie. They sure couldn't have given it any stars for screenplay, script, acting, or pretty much anything else.
Okay, there was the opening scene where the cover of the book sort of comes to life, but beyond that, this is unadulterated awful.

I wasn't especially psyched by the description, and when the movie started, thought it was going to be a clunker. But it certainly wasn't!
The plot is a little off the beaten path, and had me wondering how I would react had Shahna stopped me in the street for help.
It's filled with fantastical, but actually realistic scenarios, and I can't say all of it necessarily seemed likely, but it opened (much like a flower) to be a thoughtful take on our culture, and the world we live in. An opportunity for the fish to see the water they live in, but never see.
I thought there were some genuine laugh-out-loud moments in the film. But also, and mostly real and touching scenes.
For what it was, the acting is top notch, and there are some VERY good performances.
If you need lasers and explosions to enjoy a movie, this probably isn't for you. But for me, it turned out to be a surprisingly wonderful film.
