This movie is so bad, I feel that I have a duty to warn all who may watch this monstrosity that you should save your time for something more productive. Such as sleep. I believe the people who conceived this movie probably had good intententions however whoever the people responsible for creating it allowed it to turn into a load of schlock and exploitation crap. Which wouldn't be so bad if the acting and dialog were not so awful. Please, this movie is 3hours plus. And you will never have those three hours back again.
To anyone who is in the position to make movies who might be reading this, I'd just like to say, please make more movies like The Gift.
Though I see the point of those that say it is flawed, it is not flawed the way most movies are.
The Gift is entertaining, beautiful, and intelligent. The characters are fascinating. The story was well written and well told.
Thanks.
P.S., long live Sam Raimi

I truly believe that this is one of the greatest movies ever made. Simply put, the premise of the movie is based upon the belief that we are doomed to repeat the errors of our lives unless we learn from them, but applies this principle literally to the main character Phil.
I agree with some of the earlier comments that this is an inspiring movie that should be watched every few years to remind us what life is all about.
That being said I have a question and a comment. After watching this movie again tonight I decided to look up the other credits for the writer. I was sadly disappointed that there are not any other significant credits. How is it that someone who created a work of art so clever and sublime, could not be more accomplished in the film industry?
Second, It appears that this movie is a litmus test for personalities. People either love it or hate it. I have seen this movie with several groups of people and have found that people who are annoyed by this film are also people that I don't care to associate with.
