As foley artist , it is , to my bad , sometimes necessary , just to have an income, (further explained , farer and later ,away .. .).
5 days , i think foley works , for a film with few nice pictures , at the begin , which doesn't lasts very long... Complete nonsense the story , not even good for a laugh ... Few actors did their best , me too... But beeing NOT paid , but i paid even the recordist (Foley), my studio and a lawyer , to get nothing then a huge defcite... (He did more then the director , he wrote a bill , invoice..i paid!) Its more then a SHAME , not for me... Also to see , hear (dialogues) ..(die luft war raus...(german poem, normally in present told (ist)) the last period (where does it started in time , movie , this above mentioned..too), Even a film , obviously not that small budget , that has , above described "quality" , this category , needs much more time , also for adequate Foley .Other talents too , but that's : Nonsense...

I regret , besides few exceptions , nearly most , to had have the opportunity for adequate work for , also this kind of movie..
It's very difficult to compare one original individual with any other , if it is that sophisticated and intelligent made , arted ..,
The story , about ghosts , shadows ; horror only visible when understood . I had , to my greatest luck , also the opportunity to make few very special foley , sounds , for occuring "events" , shimmering , fogs , fear ...bells , what you don't hear , don't see but , hopefully imagine.. . Few sounds where already there , standards , from japanese movies , as i assumed . Better version possible , more natural ,more expression , but its about a language.. a co moncept , which is to support. The coin , western , the boot , too , sword .. .Sometimes is it necessary to use a quote , even it sounds "cheap" or antique , depends on the concept. For a documentary not possible .It was , also the conflict between ghost,realty, history and present.

Since it's long ago , it is hard to make a good informed critic about this film. Its more about my memories...
I was impressed , the camera , the director , also as person , his daughter , picture editing , as far i remember , nina hoss , impressive actress and voice , singing , also ben becker , better as in most other movies , i know, a bit old fashioned, was my impression at this time , the movie , a to "soft" , maybe much to sentimental , regarding the historic "truth" , described , as most movies are a"description" , but it was very good , old school , movie , very good acting actors , and since it was obviously , in regards of the age and other circumstances of the director , a very gentle , cultivated person , as far i rember , an important work also for him ...
