  • This film does Terry McMillan's writing no justice

This movie had great potential had it landed in the right directors hands (as seen with How Stella got Her Groove Back). Many rough cuts, sloppy editing, and terrible lighting at times to name a few. Casting was excellent with the exception of Whitney Houston who has the tendency to over-chew her scenes. Though much of the book was not adapted to the film the strength and love amongst four friends was apparent. It was the one thing that was not lost or left on the cutting room floor. Good movie, better book.

  • I LOVE this movie and don't know why

I was laying around one day flipping through the channels and came upon this movie and have watched it several times since. Leelee Sobieski proved to be a great actress starring with veterans Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Hershey. Anthony Roth Constanzo gave such a stunning performance you'll wonder why this is his only film to date. I'm not sure the novel would keep my attention as the film did but if you're chilling out at home on a rainy day it's worth checking out.

  • So funny

I love this show. If you don't have HBO I suggest you run out and rent a few videos. This is sketch comedy at its best. She takes on any and every character you could imagine. The gay airline steward, Trevor. Then there's a Leslie Abrahamson type attorney, Sydney. Former make-up artist to the stars turned lush Ruby Romaine. The list goes on and on. If you're an Tracy Ullman fan you won't be disappointed. Check it out!
