  • Enjoyable Perfection

I was invited to a private screening of the film in New York recently, and was thoroughly impressed by what I saw. "Christmas in the Clouds" is a film of perfect rhythm - the movie is funny when it is should be funny. It's serious when it should be serious. There's an addictive flow to the film that takes the viewer on a smooth ride - you watch the film because you want to watch. The direction of the movie allows the viewer to fall in love with the various characters (each with their own quirkiness). The plots are interwoven and laced with one another, bringing together an excellent example of the "perfect screenplay". Lines are delivered effortlessly, and the actors are exceptional. The cinematography is breathtaking, as is the awesome landscape seen in the picture. Kate Montgomery has done a commendable job in creating a beautiful film, and I highly recommend it to any film enthusiast who desires a quality product. I, for one, consider "Christmas in the Clouds" time well spent.

  • It should have won an award...

I saw this wonderfully directed and well written film at the Montreal World Film Festival, in August- on the date which happened to be the Movie's world premiere. I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for this film. The cast was wonderfully selected, the directing was superb, and the acting was magnificent. (Kudos to Shirley Knight- she always manages to pull me into her character, no matter how large or small her part!)

I hope that this film eventually finds its way to a theatre- I am certainly a critic when it comes to film (I'm quite picky with what I like and don't like), and this film gets my vote!

  • A must see for the whole family...

I viewed this film at the Montreal World Film Festival in August of 2000, and left the theatre knowing that this was no doubt the best film I'd be seeing at the fest.

A stellar cast (including wonderful work from Julianna Margulies and Kyra Sedgwick- and their entire "family"), and a great twist to the ol' standby plot of Thanksgiving, made this movie the great work that it is! I went in wondering if I'd enjoy the movie, and left the theatre incredibly happy that I attended the Canadian premiere.

Though the cliché is certainly overused, I must use it in this instance: you'll laugh and you'll cry. It's true. "What's Cooking?" will certainly earn my box office dollars upon its opening weekend and I suggest you spend two great hours watching this film at your local theatre!
