  • You have to love it for some reasons

First of all, I have to say that I'm Hungarian, which is the home country of this film's director, István Szabó. I love movies, but haven't seen many of his films, to be sincere. Though, I find this latest comedy very good. It's simply a film you have to love. It's not complicated, it doesn't make you cry. But it's still a film that is a real joy to watch.

The main reason of course is Annette Bening, who really deserves a huge amount of awards for this performance. Szabó makes us love her, despite being a bit evil and selfish. That's because the character is very lively: we can understand her motivations and feelings. But all the other performances are quite alright. the score and costumes are wonderful, so is the cinematography. I was at the shooting, I was the member of the theatre audience. I'm happy that I could be a tiny little part of the key scenes. And they look gorgeous on the big screen! Thanks.

  • At last: a really funny movie for young people in Hungary

My friends told me that I have to watch this movie. This is not just really funny but all the hearts of the filmmakers are in this picture. The plot is very good, just like the characters. The ending is really surprising, and I felt that I wanna clap my hands in the cinema! This movie is the best Hungarian commercial movie from this and the last decade. It did not have a huge merchandising, but I hope that it will be a big success not just in Hungary, but all over the world!! Congratulations!

  • The most suggestive film I've ever seen

The first horror film that won 5 Academy Awards... And this is the movie that was worthy of it! This is a movie that changed our thoughts in connection with thrillers: a horror movie can be clever, very breathtaking and can cause catarsis. The plot is excellent, not just the script but the book is first-class too; the actors are brilliant: Jodie Foster in the role of Clarice Starling is so sensitive and so fragile and vulnerable; Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter is so calm and he is a such a cold-blooded killer that we can hardly stay relaxed in our armchairs...(Remember the scene where he kills the 2 cops and than listens to classical music...) Jonathan Demme directed very well: he knew what to do to feel claustrophobia in the prison-scenes, and to be afraid when we are in the house of the serial-killer. My favorite scene is the last action sequence: Clarice cannot see anything, but the killer sees her: and what comes after, knows everyone. If you don't know what comes after, you have to check it out... The best thriller from the 90's!
