  • Better than the first, waiting for the third.

Being a Pokemon fanatic, I was thrilled to see a sequel to Pokemon: The First Movie. Then again, I was sort of skeptical, because the first movie was not as "adventurous" as I thought it would be. Also, it is known that sequels tend to be worse than the original film. However, I was proven wrong. This film has better animation, a more detailed plot line, and greater sense of a "movie" rather than an extended version of the television series. Even the short, "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure" made more sense than "Pikachu's Vacation" in the first movie. I know what you all may be thinking, he is probably just some kid who just wants to brag about how good Pokemon is; but the fact is... I'm 20! I can legally walk into a "R-rated" movie! But, I would prefer walking into this delightful feature, because sometimes, with all the horror and boring over-dramatic films out there, it feels good to see a cute & funny animated film with a lesson to be learned at the end (which I'm not going to spoil for you). I highly recommend this movie, because nowadays, we all need to feel like a "kid" to release us from the stress! So, until a third movie comes out, I'll watch this one some more!

  • Touching and warm... a tear-jerker!

Wow! What a spectacular movie! I was stunned by the wonderful performances by both Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd. The two beautiful and talented actress are so real that I felt like I was in Wal-Mart with them! I have never been so moved by a movie in so long. The plot is well-written, the movie is very wonderfully filmed, and is extremely well-casted. Every single bit of the movie was entertaining as well as touching. Being a guy, it may seem hard for tears to be coming out of my eyes when I'm seeing a movie. But this one did me in! So, if all those guys out there are trying to show women that they could be sensitive too, rent this movie and have a good cry. Not only will this film make you cry, it'll also make you think of how fortunate you are to have what you have. A must-see for everyone!

  • Weird, dumb, and not entertaining...

After seeing the previews on this movie, my friends and I wanted to see it right away for three reasons: 1) it seemed like it had a very touching plot; 2) the special effects seemed very real; and 3) we love Christina Ricci. So, we decided to see it the Friday it came out. But, when we walked out of the theater, we were laughing our heads off because of how dumb the movie was. First, the plot was not believable, did not move along smoothly, and was generally boring. Yes, the leads act really well, but the plot made them look like chickens running around with their heads off. Second, the effects were mediocre. Although, I did not expect much in the ways of effects in the movie, this was pretty bad. Have you ever seen someone trying to kill someone else with a butter knife?! I have, in this movie! Thirdly, almost the entire preview was spent on Christina Ricci's role. But the length of her on-screen in the movie is equal to the amount of time she is in the trailer. Her role could easily be filled by an extra! Her role had no challenge, hardly any lines and hardly any effect on the movie. So, if you want a good laugh at a stupid, "it's-been-done" movie, or if you have nothing better to do, see "Bless The Child". If not, you would be as disappointed as my friends and I were.
