See this movie!! Other reviews have and I am sure will totally dog the ending of this touch of brilliance. I, on the other hand, absolutely love the ending of this movie. Kevin Smith has never been typical Hollywood. He entertains the masses by keeping it real. This movie is a cross section of a kalidescope of people. I get tired of fairy tale endings, it ruins much of Hollywood these days.

Placing the ending aside, this is a beautiful movie. Jason Lee adds the right amount of relief needed to humble ourselves to comfortability of his and Holden's friendship. We are drawn into all relationships, and are required to question our own as the movie progresses. You constantly ask yourself, could this really happen? If I were Holden would I feel the same way?

Of Kevin Smith's four movies this is visually beautiful. The scene with Holden and Alyssa talking in the dark except for one blue light, captivates me time and time again. Kevin Smith flaunts his talents as a writer by directing a comedic masterpiece as well as a heart touching drama. You will surly walk away pleased with the beauty of this relationship study

Throughout this movie you ask yourself, Is the Clint Eastwood directing this? Is that Kevin Costner? I am a huge fan of Eastwood's direction in film, and this one frankly surprised me.

This beautiful movie dives deep in the emotions of an escaped convict and his choices in life. Every shot is meticulously thought out, as Eastwood presents what some would say a Kubrick style film. The message of life through this dark movie slows the pacing at times, but is rewarded by Costner's acting. Kevin's films have been all but impressive over the last few years, but this performance stands out in my mind as his best. The ending is a tad bit off key with the rest of the film, but I understand why it was ended that way, it just could have been rewritten a few times.

This was one of the most psychological films of the early 90's and Eastwood's greatest as a director. He was able to bring it all together, the acting, the Cinematography, and the story to make a real film. Eastwood was on a roll with Unforgiven, A Perfect World, and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. If you love the films of Eastwood, be sure to give this one a look. It is worth the time.

Ill admit it.......I liked the three hours of woman chasing and obsession. Ross begins his documentary intent on the journeys of W. Sherman. Sherman was a southerner turned "yankee" during the civil war. Sherman's march through most of Georgia and the Carolina's left a painful scar of our country in troubled times. Ross parallels this scar to that of his present day life. Present day 1986 that is. And quite easily, this documentary changes tone as Ross becomes obsessed with the women he encounters on the way. At times he does jump back to "Sherman's March", but the lure of lust and love prove to be too much for Ross.

After seeing this movie, I ask myself, What did I just see? It took a while to think about this documentary, and it opens up thoughts of life and love. I really want to know if this was calculated to document a mans love of women, or a mans love of war. Sit down, watch, and be amazed by the documentation of life in this era, by following the path of a civil war leader.
