This isn't your typical "Jesus" depiction. This is an extraordinary adventure back 2000 yrs ago where you are dropped into a little fishing village called Capernaum on the Sea of Galilee. You begin mingling with fascinating neighbors like Simon the beefy fisherman, Matthew the "on the spectrum" tax collector you want to be friends with, a beautiful Mary with a tormented past, Gaius, the Roman guard, Nicodemus the wisest of Pharisees, Zebedee the senior fisherman & his 2 strapping boys James & John. Enter Jesus of Nazareth, the brilliant Jonathan Roumie. This kind, humorous, gentle soul weaves these lives together like a colorful intricate tapestry, with threads of healing, teaching, transforming his students, and the miraculous; fish filled net & water into wine. Try to watch one episode of The Chosen! I dare you! It's eternally binge-worthy!
I discovered Nick on "The Chosen" TV series about the life of Christ. He delivers such depth, texture & believability to this character. His ability to balance levity with profound sincerity makes him an intriguing character to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing this character of "Zebedee" on "The Chosen" flourish with the times.
Jonathan Roumie is such a brilliant actor, a true chameleon. He brings such authenticity, passion, texture, depth to every character he plays. Most recently in the TV series, "The Chosen", he plays the part of Jesus of Nazareth with mesmerizing accuracy & believability. He's chilling as he delivers the sacred words of the Son of God with much reverence & even levity at times. He can morph into a wide range of personalities with ease. He's captivating to watch. Waiting impatiently for his next performance.
