I'm astonised to see some of the comments regarding this film. Do people not realise that its not supposed to be a serious piece of cinema. Its a mindless adventure/Comedy with huge holes in the plot that nobody bothered to sort out because they really don't matter in this type of film. Kevin Costner is fine as the lead (The fact he kept the American accent should have made people realise the lighthearted nature of the film)and Alan Rickman is excellant as the villian. For a evening of TV that you dont have to think too hard about, this is just about the perfect film.
I watched this for about the 5th time last night and would challenge anyone not to warm to the characters in this movie. Bullock and Pulman are perfect as indeed are the rest of the cast. If I had any criticism it would be that the pace slows slightly and it may be a fraction long but this is a minor flaw in what is a true feel good movie.
This film is very much what you would expect it to be. Unoffensive, far fetched but at the same time well made with well paced performances from the 2 main stars. There are much worst ways to spend 2 hours at the movies and whilst my ribs were not aching with laughter I did laugh out loud a few times, as did the rest of the cinema
