  • What a complete waste of time...

I was triggered by the (then) 8.7/10 IMDb rating, but had to delete the entire show after watching watching the first episode, on which neither me (m, 50) nor my GF (45) and both didn't see the point, although we have a great, witty sense of humor and are rather smart I'd claim.

Perhaps it is a US East Coast character study, not understandable for Germans, but the lie because of which the excuse gets rehearsed is in our opinions no big deal and seriously not worth the immense effort and cost put into recreating the rehearsal environments. One seriously wonders who paid for that, and whether it is meant to be serious or the writer/director is making fun of us viewers.

The whole thing is neither funny nor has is it any suspense moments. It's at best strange and overall plain boring. Very boring.

  • Forrest Gump in lame

Waste of time. Mediocre acting. The story as such is boring and clearly constructed with Forrest Gump in mind. I have no clue why the book was so successful, as everyone who has seen Forrest Gump will be bored to death.

  • Excellent... if it would have been told in 10 minutes. But 93 minutes? Forget it!

I saw the trailer and thought this movie might be worth to watch. Unfortunately, as I found out while watching it, the trailer already shows the highlights.

The movie is way too long and the story could have been easily told in 10 Minutes. As short film this would be excellent, but 93 minutes... it really gets boring.

The only reason to watch it is the excellent casting of Thierry Van Werverke http://us.imdb.com/Name?Van+Werveke,+Thierry as lisping "Glotze". He is really funny...

The rest of the cast? Oh boy... There is Udo Kier, the king of supporting actors, who plays an insane and mercenary doctor. Due to a laryngeal defect he wears a amplifying, illuminated necklace which strangely alters his voice. This is so stupid and somehow reminds me of Dennis Hopper playing the evil guy in Super Mario Bros. (an incredible piece of sh*t).

Then there is Burt Reynolds as gangster boss "Banko". Gosh! This facelift is terrifying. Michael Jackson looks better. Due to his tense skin, he is almost unable to fully open his mouth so that he can't speak properly. Anyway the part he plays... I mean "Smokey and the Bandit" was fun to watch when I was a kid, but this one really hurts.

Remarkable is the casting of Steffen Wink as "Rico". Remarkable, because in the movie he just looks like producer, co-director (and actor) Til Schweiger, so that I wonder why Schweiger hasn't played himself. Wink's performance is ridiculous.

Niels-Bruno Schmidt as "Dave" isn't worth to mention, Martin Glade as "Siggi" is OK because he is quite funny to look at.

Concludingly, I wouldn't recommend to spend money on this movie. I saw the movie with three friends and we all rated it 4.0 (out of 10).
