Grand Admiral Murphy's rating
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was a good movie, but it is not faithful to the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Davis Seltzer(who I suspect wrote the shooting script, because R.D. said that he didn't like the final script), did too many changes to it. For instance, the Oompa-Loompas sang really bad songs "Oompa-Loompa do-pe-de-dah, I got another puzzle for you", was one of them. If you want to see movie versions of other Dahl books, you should see the way-more faithful movie versions of James and the Giant Peach and Matilda. Although this is a good family film(in line with Star Wars and E.T.), it is a bad adaption of a great, fun book.
"The Cage", the long-forgotten Trek pilot is good for it's day. Of course, there is Captain Pike's TV set, you can see a woman in a miniskirt for a sec, and other 60's stuff. Otherwise, okay. "Where No Man has Gone Before is better.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was the best film adaption of a Dahl book. The Witches were bad, and these two are the most famous ones. If you liked the book, you will really like this movie! Or, in reverse(but I read the book first, so, I don't know what you think).
