This is without doubt one of the worst films I have ever seen. Almost everything about it is awful, especially the editing. This is no exaggeration. Watch something like Nosferatu, which was made in 1922, and then watch this, made over 50 years later and wonder why editing technology hasn't advanced in such a large period of time. The only thing this film is good for is that it's so bad you may have wet yourself by the end (which is crap, as if you had to be told). One of the worst films ever.

  • Superb

I had heard some of the hype surrounding this film when I rented it out, and now I wish I'd had the chance to see it in the cinema. The quality of the VHS version isn't great, but in a way that serves to make it more eerie and atmospheric as it appears similar to the video central to the plot. My one qualm would have to be with the lighting, which although adding tension in some scenes (at the bottom of the well for one) does make it slightly annoying. That said it is an excellent and truly creepy film, and walking home in the dark as I did once it had finished is certainly not advised. I give it 9/10, bring on Ringu 2

  • Fantastic

This film is undoubtedly the best film ever made. The editing and camerawork is excellent and the plot is gripping. If I was on Death Row and I was able to watch one film with my last meal, this would be the one.
