I'm surprised at all the bad reviews for this movie. I have to believe that NONE of them have even watched the first film, "Father Christmas Is Back", or they would have a better appreciation for the characters and the dynamics of their relationships. Talking about the actresses' age in relation to Kelsey Grammar's is irrelevant and nit-picky. Movies have always featured stars that are close in age playing parents and adult children.
The first movie was full of laughs, at the sisters and the situations. This one has a lot more drama in it, and a bit of humor. We enjoyed this one, even though it has a slow start. If you've seen the first one, give this one a chance. Just don't expect a raging comedy. Expect more sentimentality, and you won't be disappointed. P. S. The locations are gorgeous!

This movie is hilarious. Not huge Will Ferrell fans, but he's great in this. And John Lithgow as his dad? Perfection! While the first movie provides the background for their story, this one can stand alone (we actually watched it first a couple years ago). The blended family decides to do a Together Christmas, all at one place. Mel Gibson, who plays Mark Wahlberg's dad, rents them a gorgeous mountain lodge and the hilarity ensues. The wives and kids add more layers to the fun. And then there's John Cena, always good for a laugh. The snowball scene outside the live nativity is the funniest one!! This is a don't-miss Christmas movie.
So many Hallmark Christmas movies are rehashed plot lines and casts, that's for sure, and we're picky viewers.
But every now and then, there's a gem. We watch the ones on Netflix and Prime more often, but we absolutely LOVE this new Hallmark one "A Biltmore Christmas". Bethany Joy Lenz is enjoyable in everything we've seen, and she shines in this one. And discovering Kristoffer Polaha is a real joy. He's perfect as Jack!
Fresh storyline, beautiful location, and great acting. Find out when it's on again and watch it. I swear, it's like watching a big-budget old-time Hollywood film. We've watched it several times already, and will watch it a few more before Christmas, I'm sure.
Don't miss it!
