The future mayor Petrov, pleased with his collaboration with Karpov, invites him along with Sveta to a private party to celebrate his daughter's wedding. There Karpov, on behalf of Petrov, meets businessman Stepanov - a potential investor of Petrov's election campaign. On the instructions of the future mayor, Karpov must intimidate the businessman and force him to work for Petrov. But, having got into Stepanov's house, Karpov persuades the businessman to unite against Petrov, the man whom Karpov suspects of murdering Lera and her family.
