There is a comic book spin off of the feature film - the 24-page comic book was successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo in March 2016. It will be drawn by DC/Marvel Comics artist Dave Beaty.
Actress Jennifer Durst has 'Evil Hands' in "Occupants". In Russ Emanuel's other films, her hands were prominent in such roles as 'Creepy Hands' in "The Assassin's Apprentice" and 'Praying Hands' in "Collar".
Briana White reportedly filmed her first nude scene for this film, but it did not make the final cut of the film.
Robert Picardo's character mentions a Wetlands documentary which is a nod to Russ Emanuel's documentary on the Bolsa Chica Wetlands called "Restoration of Paradise". Coincidentally Robert Picardo also narrated this documentary.
