Hilarious

This show never took itself too seriously. I think season three will be it's last, but it ended on a good note with a sweet finale. Every episode is raunchy, fun, and witty. I know the show got a ton of hate for being on TV Land (a "wholesome" network), but I'm glad they took a risk with Teachers and kept it up. Maybe it should have belonged on Comedy Central. There's probably never going to be anything like it on tv again.

Gallows humor

I guess I have a juvenile, black sense of humor because I think this show is hilarious. I have been both a high school and middle school teacher and currently am a middle school counselor. There are some spot on moments to this show. There is some exaggeration, but anyone's day to day work life in schools would be boring without editing out the meetings, paperwork, etc. I guess I have just had the fabulous luck of working with funny, sometimes inappropriate (never in front of kids) people. I feel bad for the people who work with the boring teachers who wrote these reviews.

Absolutely Hilarious

This show is literally one of the funniest shows on television. My wife is a teacher and Teachers basically crushes it with the personalities she works with. Can not recommend it more highly. It's a fantastic show. It really picks up in Season 2 and just kills it with every successive episode. Check it out.

Teachers, like us, think it's hilarious

To everyone getting bent out shape about jokes on this show - "Lighten up, Francis!". It is a comedy TV show, not a documentary. Wife and I have both taught elementary and middle school and find the show funny. Think Always Sunny in Philly + scrubs in a school setting. It is edgy and clever without taking itself too seriously. Characters are exaggerations of flawed people but still manage to be likable and relatable. Gets funnier the longer you watch so don't give up if not blown away by the pilot.

Hilarious

As a teacher I did find this hilarious. Everyone has probably encountered a real staff member similar to each teacher (not the extremes, but they're there). It's a raunchy comedy for sure, so obviously not ok for kids. Are they role model teachers? Absolutely not, but it is funny and the teacher's lounge conversations crack me up.

It's okay to laugh...

I'm a teacher and I think this is funny. There are so many things that they say that I'm sure many teachers actually feel. The "politics" behind public education are shameful, and these ladies highlight some of those ideas. Is it the most realistic show- not by a mile- but that's why it's funny. It makes me think of Kids in the Hall or Baroness von Sketch Show.

Worst 'comedy' I've ever encountered.

I have never watched something so awful in my life. Nowhere near funny. I would definitely not under any circumstances recommend. Absolutely terrible, if I could give it 0 stars I would. The jokes are not funny, they are weak (at best) and just pathetic. The storyline is not as bad as the jokes but still awful. I hope they don't subject us to another season of this.

LOVE, LOVE , LOVE IT!!

This show is B.R.I.L.J.A.N.T.! Coming from a Dutch a teacher with a sense of humor ;-) To the other teachting critics : it is comedy: not a documentary. Everything is so exaggerated over the top and (politically) incorrect. I LOVE IT! I recognise every stereoype teacher in my team. Love the perfect cast, wonderful script and the music is so wel done. I love it. Not for the faint of heart . I love it .

A bit like if a bunch of 13 year old on the verge of drop out wrote this show while high on something.

A walking insult to teachers, schools, students, parents and viewers of the show. Anyone really. It's beyond bad.

Obviously written, directed and produced by people who have not been in a classroom since their own childhood and have a more than juvenile sense of humor to say the least. A bit like if a bunch of 13 year old on the verge of drop out wrote this show while high on something.

This feels like a long bad painful sketch hat no one knows how to end.

And I feel really mad at the missed opportunity to do something really interesting and intelligently funny about teachers: after all there are so many shows about law enforcement, doctors and so on that it would be exciting to have the equivalent for teachers. It feels as if these particular profession is treated with ridicule and disrespect instead of the real interest it deserves. After all, it's only one of the most important profession in anyone's life, we all entrust our kids to teachers, they shape the mind of all of us. Why indeed take the time to really research what is going on in schools, with the immense reservoir of real funny anecdotes that any teacher knows and experiences? It's so much more fun to have a set of tired old jokes to offer.

Please... put this show out of its misery.

I love it!!!

Freedom of speech is a great thing. It's a good thing all you people can voice your opinion. It's also a good thing that you people can turn the channel. I think it's funny.

Rough start but it gets better

I gotta say the pilot was a doozie. I can see why so many parents, teachers, and other viewers were turned off from the pilot. The teachers really weren't likable enough to warrant another episode viewing.

Did the pilot lightly poke fun of teachers, students, and parents? No,the teachers and kids were spewing very pointed, specific dialogue that jabbed and stabbed. The dialogue alone was a sign that this was no haphazardly put-together pilot but unfortunately the comedy was kind of neglected. The rather cruel and dramatic tone obscured smart observations like how the cell phone culture is killing the good Samaritan in people. The plotting was predictable and the hot for dad teacher is a cringe-worthy character. A Freudian slippin', tongue-tied, snorting teacher is cheap comedy. Revenge of the Nerds wants their horrible cred back!

As much as I couldn't stand the pilot, I truly loved episode 9 (except for Ms. Bennigan. That woman grows on you like moss.) The acting was great as always, there were many double entendres and puns, and also plenty of unpredictable moments involving the likes of a granola bar, a mild case of stranger danger and the rather unlikeable Ms.Snap. The pop-culture obsessed, vapid teacher had a moment of teaching waywardness that was truly hilarious. The cluelessness wasn't cruel and the child actor was awesome. The Miracle Worker couldn't have been lampooned any better.

Episode 9 is what I initially hoped for in the series. Basically MOST of the comedy cruelty was exacted on the teachers themselves and not towards each other or the students. These teachers, however horrible they may be as educators, had heart in this episode and I hope the next episode shows it, too.

AWE-FULL The Writers Used Every Cliché In Existence

I only watched episode one.

I expected to see a comedy, with a little real life tossed in.

What I saw instead, was the the raunchy thing they made. They have ruined the title ; That title could have been used for an excellent television show that could have ran as long as Seinfeld.

These very bad writers made use of every black joke, polish joke, gay joke, bad decision ; JUST EVERY Cliché IN THE BOOK, (And they did all that in just the first episode.).

WOW, Was it AWE-FULL ; What a waste of film. What a waste of a great name for a television show, also.

I got very angry when I saw a television commercial calling this a run away hit ; So I took the trouble to go and find the top place I could find to criticize it ; That place would be I.M.D.B..

HILARIOUS

I see a lot of negative reviews but holy crap, this series is hilarious. It's crass, vulgar, bizarre and yet it is so fresh and hilarious. The way the "Katies" interact on screen is classic comedy. They are all messed up but do not even know it.

Ignore the bigoted evangelical "Moms"

Actually a really funny and smart show with a unique perspective. The hate group known as one million moms is responsible for the slanderous reviews. This show is one of the only ones created, written, and acted by women. It's six female comedians from Chicago that came up with this and they did a fantastic job. Not all of the jokes land but most do and they are hilarious. The storylines in each episode are clever and had me interested.

actually really funny

I think this show is one of the ones that people either love or hate. I definitely love it! I catch myself laughing out loud all the time! It took me about 2 or 3 episodes to get hooked, but now I can't stop. People totally talk bad about the show, but I don't think they give a good chance to grow on them. But maybe it's not just sense of humor, which is totally fine too. The funniest characters are in my opinion the little blonde girl and her obsession with hot dad and her best friend. I really really hope that there is a season 2 because it's my new favorite current show on TV!

Anyways, my advice for everyone would be to give it a chance at least, because it's an easy show to dismiss, but definitely worth a spot on your DVR!

Maybe not the best show but...

There were moments where I was mortified watching this show but while the show is morbid & a bit nuts, if you've ever spent time around teachers you'd also know the show is pretty accurate.

Before I was married I worked as a teacher's aid (while getting my teaching degree, before I decided to take another reoute) & about 70% of my friends are still teachers.

I've heard & seen way worst things than anything seen on this show. While I did cringe often, I also laughed as I recognized many of the characters in real life teachers.

I know no one really wants to admit to this sort of debauchery around children & moms every where would rather believe this stuff doesn't happen but boy I could share some true stories about why I decided not to teach & non of them had anything to do with kids.

Ask your kids lots of questions about school, you'd be surprised...

Have the writers of this show ever been in a classroom?

This show is awful. Absolutely awful. Apparently the writers of this show have not been in a classroom or school in a very long time. There is nothing funny about this show at all, rather I find it highly inappropriate. I've never encountered teachers who talk to students in such a manner. Or talk about topics like that around students all of the time. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't say exactly what they've said, but there is not a single teacher I've worked with that would discuss anything like that in front of students in their own class. Also, lets talk about the way these women dress. Again have they been to a school recently?! Most teachers don't dress like that at all. I would say most teachers aren't that dressed up most of the time, or ever. This is just an awful representation of the school system and teachers in general. Even if this was meant to be a spoof comedy, it is horrible and not at all funny. Horrible. Don't waste your time, unless you need a good drinking game.

Great Show (except episode 1)

This is a very funny show. You may know that One Million Moms has set an agenda against this show which is why you see all the one star reviews.

I am a teacher and I think this show is hysterical. Is it realistic, no. Does it offend me? No. I am smart enough to realize that this is a comedy, a farce Every character is an exaggeration and the actors do a great job.

It's not that bad... Just relax.

Ok people. This is not a documentary, it's a comedy. The intention of a comedy is to use exaggerations to make you laugh. This show obviously exaggerated the worst aspects of certain people in this profession and is in no way intended to accurately represent the profession. How boring would it be to watch a show about people of any profession who were not flawed and executed every aspect of their job free of error. I personally find the lack of political correctness and sophistication is the joke-telling refreshing and appealing. Just relax and allow yourself to enjoy something for God's sake.

Fantastic series and I miss it

This series had such clever writing, character studies and storylines. I really miss it now that it's over. All the one-star ratings are bogus -- created by religious fanatics with no brains or humor.

So many haters...

If you watch the show as a woman's version of Workaholics with ridiculous antics in unrealistic situations, it's a good show. Maybe people were expecting a true depiction of real teacher's problems at school and social commentary, blah blah. What happened to good ole' raunchy fun? Certainly doesn't deserve anything under a 5.

Chill the F down

People hating on the show need to chill. I think it's hilarious. I can't wait for the next season. This show isn't supposed to insult teachers. Just like 'Reno 911' weren't trying to insult police officers of Reno or 'The office' weren't trying to insult workers who work in corporate or 'Modern Family' trying to insult a "traditional" family style. Get the gest of it?? SO CHILL THE F DOWN
