The Actress Who Plays Badison on Oitnb Actually Has a Crazy Connection to Alex Vause
Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne, Selenis Leyva, Laura Prepon, Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, Dascha Polanco, and Danielle Brooks in Orange Is the New Black (2013)
If the COs of Litchfield were to ask the inmates if they've ever felt personally victimized by Badison Murphy, we're pretty sure we'd have a room filled with raised hands, à la Mean Girls. During season six of Orange Is the New Black, fans are introduced to a vicious new bully, and although Badison is a far cry from Regina George, they both sure know how to piss off a lot of people. Originally named Madison before dubbing herself "Badison" (and once called Sadison), the small but mighty inmate proves that she'll do anything to be Carol's top dog. With a memorable Boston accent and an obvious lack of conscience, Piper's new bunkmate becomes the center of a lot of drama in the new season. But with such a strong presence, we can't believe we didn't recognize actress Amanda Fuller from her previous roles.

Not only did Fuller star as...

Lifetime’s Britney Spears Biopic: First Images Reveal Unrecognizable Pop Princess and Justin Timberlake
Kevin Federline
A day before Britney Spears’ 35th birthday (December 2), the folks over at Lifetime released a handful of photos from the upcoming singer’s biopic, and boy were we confused.

The images feature the Princess of Pop (Natasha Bassett) – which in the glam pic looks more like a 2008 Taylor Swift – along with her then-beau Justin Timberlake (Nathan Keyes), ex-husband Kevin Federline (Clayton Chitty) and the rest of the *Nsync crew, none of which actually look like the real-life celebrities.

Lifetime has a knack for casting actors who tend to not look like the celebrities they are portraying, e.g., Amanda Fuller in “The Brittany Murphy Story,” Camilla Luddington and Nico Evers-Swindel in “William & Kate,” so it’s not surprising to see such unrecognizable faces portraying the stars. (Really, that’s supposed to be *Nsync?!)

Lifetime Biopic Actors vs. the Real Life Stars They’ve Portrayed on TV
View Photo Gallery

With Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B making its debut this Saturday, we’re most struck by the resemblance between the film’s star Alexandra Shipp and the late R&B singer. The young actress has Aaliyah‘s style down, especially when she serves the singer’s tomboy-ish, hip-hop swagger. And then at other times, we’re reminded that this is a Lifetime film and there’s really no replicating Aaliyah. Overall Shipp does a better job of bringing the singer’s story to life on the small screen than other performers who came before her. Amanda Fuller was too distracted by a poor choice of wigs in The Brittany Murphy Story to accurately portray the troubled actress. When it came to Liz & Dick, there was no getting past that Lindsay Lohan was somehow just playing an older version of herself. And then there was Jewel as...

Why Lifetime’s Brittany Murphy Movie Is a Disgrace To Her Legacy

By Christopher Rosa

Lifetime aired its buzzed-about biopic on the late Brittany Murphy — aptly titled The Brittany Murphy Story — Saturday night. Controversy reached a fever pitch last week when Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti told Examiner he is “outraged” by the “hideous, unauthorized, and completely untrue” film. However, after watching the movie, he isn’t too far off-base.

The Brittany Murphy Story is bad, and that’s an understatement. The film is plagued by poor acting (yes, even for Lifetime), choppy time jumps, and tonal inconsistencies. If we’re to believe Lifetime, Murphy (played by Amanda Fuller) was a too-trusting, insecure victim to paparazzi and shady con-artists — namely, her husband Simon Monjack, who died five months after Murphy in the same room from the same cause. The film is more exploitative than exploratory. Is any of this true? We might never know, but fans certainly shouldn’t be happy about it.

'The Brittany Murphy Story' Review Roundup: Lifetime Biopic Slammed By Critics
Lifetime’s Brittany Murphy biopic, The Brittany Murphy Story, premiered Saturday night to largely negative reviews from TV critics.

The Brittany Murphy Story chronicles the late movie star’s struggle to break into Hollywood, through her rise and success and into her troubled final years. Starring as Murphy in the made-for-tv biopic is Last Man Standing’s Amanda Fuller, while Adam Hagenbuch plays Murphy’s onetime boyfriend and Just Married costar Ashton Kutcher.

Brittany Murphy Biopic Reviews

Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti has chastised Lifetime and slammed its attempt at recreating his daughter’s life and career. Critics, like Bertolotti, have found the movie distasteful and a poor representation of the late actress. Furthermore, Fuller’s performance has been panned for being flat and seeming like she simply read off the page. The production value has also taken a hit.

“Here’s what you need to know to understand how...

Brittany Murphy TV biopic: 'We wanted to honour Brittany's memory'
Brittany Murphy: la mort suspecte d'une star (2014)
Amanda Fuller has defended Lifetime TV's Brittany Murphy biopic.

The Last Man Standing actress, who has a starring role in The Brittany Murphy Story, told ABC News that the intent of the biopic was "to honour Brittany's memory".

Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti recently said that he was "disgusted" by the network's decision to "produce such a trashy project".

Fuller, however, described Murphy as "a crazy girl from Jersey with that quirky spirit", before suggesting that Brittany's mother would have given her blessing.

"I think if she were to see the film, she would see the intent was only to honour Brittany's memory and bring her beautiful spirit to life."

Fuller also responded to negative reactions on social media, arguing that "it comes with the territory".

The Brittany Murphy Story premieres tonight (September 6) at 8pm.

Lifetime Drops “The Brittany Murphy Story” Trailer: Watch Here!
Back in 2009, she left the world grieving and looking for answers when she died, and now Brittany Murphy's story is getting the Lifetime treatment.

In a newly-released teaser trailer for “The Brittany Murphy Story,” the “Clueless” actress is depicted as living a pretty stressful and difficult existence.

Played by Amanda Fuller, Murphy appears to be addicted to pills while phrases like “the suspects,” and “afraid for her life” flash across the screen.

Clearly, Lifetime believes that Brittany’s cardiac arrest was much more sordid than previously reported, and Murphy’s fans will get to see the new project when it debuts on September 6th at 8pm.

Brittany Murphy: la mort suspecte d'une star (2014)
Lifetime released its trailer for the network's upcoming biopic The Brittany Murphy Story Friday – and it's dramatic.

Flashes of Murphy (played by Grey's Anatomy's Amanda Fuller) struggling with pill bottles and harassed by paparazzi and reporters in her face pass quickly in the footage, while words like "paranoid" and "targeted" flicker between scenes – all set to a haunting, slow-burning cover of Haddaway's "What Is Love" by Canadian import Kiesza.

The clip ends with a distraught Simon Monjack (Murphy's husband, played by Eric Petersen) telling reporters, "You all killed her!"

The late actress, best remembered for her turn in Clueless,...
