I heard Alison live many years ago when she was in Empangeni doing a talk, what an incredible story, I purchased the book and was hooked, every time I need some inspiration I go back to the book and read it again.
This movie is just WOW, it is graphic about what happened it's based on fact. I can not imagine how she survived this attack but the movie allows you to hear Alison talk about what happened in her own words and and connect with all the people that assisted her.
Its a must watch!

What Alison went through is one of the most terrifying ordeals I have ever heard of and I watch a lot of Crime Documentaries. Her recovery and her strength is truly beautiful to see. A really well made Documentary about a truly inspirational Human Being.

Watched on Prime as a random watch. What a fascinating story. I went to school with a girl who had the same last name too and was also South African.
I couldn't believe what Alison went through and somehow, with the help of G-d, survived such a horrific ordeal with the fight of a warrior.
This film had both my partner and I gasping at times as we couldn't believe it, it was almost too eerily fantastical. The ending almost made me throw my TV through my glass paneling. I resisted the urge with the ultimate outcome.

I'm a paramedic so I may look at this differently than some. I can't imagine any way that her body survived this attack, but even beyond that, if you can believe it, her spirit survived, and that is nothing short of a miracle.
It's very graphic, so if you are triggered, or delicate to such things you should probably pass it by. But my life is much better because I've seen this movie.
I've seen some criticize the way that it's presented. I personally think that it's perfect in every way.
I'm willing to bet that you've never heard a story like this before, and I'll bet dollars to donuts that you never will again. It's that incredible.

A very well directed piece of work, and a story for all who need inspiration. Hearing Alison Botha tell her version of events was chilling and sobering.
This tale of survival is remarkable. The execution of the film was outstanding, and with its honest portrayal of events on the timeline (especially after the attack), it takes us into the beautiful direction of hope.

Alison's story shows the viewer the worst and best of human nature - and in no uncertain terms. Graphic, disturbing and emotional, Alison's incredible story is required viewing, but viewer discretion is definitely advised.
This is a tale of a warrior woman, who survived the devil himself. And she's a living proof that miracles do exist.
It's gruesome to watch and your jaw will drop several times but her strength it's the most impressive part of all.
I'd give Alison the human 10,000,000 stars for surviving and being an inspiration. Her telling of her story is so powerful! Alison the film, however, feels incomplete after the initial telling of the story. The filmmaker's attempts to tell more parts of the story fall flat and don't give Alison the woman the same space and power. Still glad I watched it, though. Alison the woman is an inspiration!

I could not watch those monsters commit the actual crime . It was too graphic for me . However , I did watch the rest of the story. I found what she said after she survived inspiring . I also am of the same opinion as Alison that we do not value ourselves . We measure our success by our careers and the amount of wealth we have , rather than the people we are .
It is a miracle that Alison survived, Call it an act of G-D . Alison is a strong , courageous woman. A woman to be admired. I hope those 'men ' never get parole .

Your senses will be tested to the limit while you watch this documentary. You will feel confused and ask yourself how is this possible about one thousand times. The only possible explanation is that this woman is indeed an exception to humanity and she has been blessed with super powers of strength and resilience. You are about witness a super woman in the flesh.

At first i was edgy about watching this documentary but deep down i knew this was going to be a sad and very emotional story which it was! You had my crying myself out like a baby. Alison is such a powerful woman so inspirational to all the women who had been victims such as herself! She fought so hard and justice was served.

This is nearly an unbelievable story because what happened to her was so horrific it's beyond shocking. This film is tastefully done and Alison is very open about the experience. It's her story to tell and she's allowing the public to step into her life, her horror, her grief, her recovery. The tone of this is so calm that it's almost as if you're having an afternoon tea break sitting right next to her as she tells you about her day but that is the beauty of this documentary-her courage and words are inspirational in a way that you don't expect and I'm not sure I've ever watched anything quite like this. Give her the respect and time to listen to her journey. Then think about her whenever you're having a bad day over spilled milk. It puts things into perspective.

This was a horrific crime. It's amazing that she survived, and a huge relief the perpetrators were caught. It was brave of Alison to relive it and to do what she has done since.
But from the first shot of Alison opening a book and reading from it like a bedtime story, to the flowery graphics and twinkling music, it felt more like a fairytale. I was waiting for a pumpkin to turn into a carriage and take her off to live happily ever after in the end.
So for me, the stylistic choices distracted from the tragedy, almost making light of the situation. If it was meant to show Alison's how throughout the process, in my opinion it completely failed.

This story is about a woman called alison who has the worst thing imaginable happen to her this is a story about a remarkable woman who is an inspiration
This film is a real-life horror story. I felt sick at times, watching it, as this is a true story/account of events and it beggars belief that a human being could be treated in such a sickening, disgusting way. It is very disturbing and not for the feint-hearted.

When Alison said that she was lifted by a power flying to the road- I believed that. That is God who was there wining the battle. I didn't know how much God loves us till I watched this movie. And you know what. God love Everyone of us just like Alison. I felt loved after I watched this movie. I wished Alison could talk for God. Although I think she ended up talking positive to people. But she couldn't manage to forgive. I think it is hard to forgive, but if God forgives us, she should also learn to forgive. Then she might not be depressed. Sometime, forgive is to let go and free yourself. A wonderful story, iM so glad that I have watched thus. I wish all the best with the rest of Alison's life- seek the truth and find out Gods kingdom.

As a story, this is a great title. I could not even begin to imagine what this woman went through, she is a very powerful / empowering young lady.
As a documentary this was made very poorly. Didn't care for how the story was told or the video game graphics.

A true story about a horrifying crime. I had never heard this story. Alison tells her own story in her own way. How she survived we will never know even though she and a doctor tried to explain to us. Uplifting only because of the way Alison handles the aftermath. A real shocker at the end though.
