Best story shame about the glitches

Without doubt my favourite story and one of the best locations to be set in for sure unfortunately the overly glitchy gameplay the worst of all the series makes it hard to love the game any further.

Extremely Underated

The story is great. There is a wide variety of missions and thank god not may tailing mission. Also visually it's stunning. Revelitionary France is really cool.

Fine, but bland

Visually pretty typical of Assassin's Creed games with a big emphasis on the architecture, which is really well done. A bit lacking in variety, though, when compared to earlier games which alternated city vs countryside or compared to Black Flag which had the various island and jungle scenes to mix it up.

Gameplay is pretty smooth. Sometimes the auto-assist goes too far (so you jump on and climb things without meaning to, because as you run past the auto-assist assumes you're trying to climb, even when you're not really that close to an object or wall). But it does make climbing when you want to fairly quick and easy. And combat is well designed.

Gadgets are a real highlight. I didn't use them enough in the early game, but later realised they make a lot of difficult challenges much more achievable and there's some reasonable variety. And the gear system adds a bit of an RPG level-up feel to the game that earlier Assassin's Creeds never quite achieved.

But then, there's nothing exciting or different and the story is *very* straightforward and lacking in any depth. On top of that, the modern-day aspect that was one of the key things that made earlier games so awesome is a complete joke here. It'd have been better if they dropped it altogether, because the little here and there just makes it feel forced and draws attention to the fact that it was so poorly considered.

And the collectibles thing has gone waaaaay overboard. When I finished the game, putting in quite a bit of effort to not miss any nearby chests and other secrets during missions, and ensuring 100% sync each mission, I looked at the map and had barely collected 10% of all the junk lying around. Assassin's Creed was always bad for that, but it's so overdone now that it makes collecting anything feel meaningless.

A perfectly fine time killer, but too bland to really pull you in in any way.

Ubisoft knows how to fix games. Other games should take note

Unity was totally broken when it game out. It had glitches that would haunt your nightmares, making it unplayable which made fans upset after all the hype. Ubisoft listened and not only fixed it, they gave the DLC for free. Unity is a game that took the cinematic side of Assassin's Creed and pushed it more towards that. Unity is solely based on story and what a story it is. This game gives a unique look at the Assassin's and the Templars showing you that both sides think they're right and that both are not as good as they may think they are. I was fixed from beginning to end in a very unique experience in an amazingly designed map that still holds up in 2020 and makes some newer games look bad. If you haven't played Unity, you should.

Assassins Creed Unity-Technological Wonder

Graphics:- This game is a technological masterpiece, with stunning look of redefined Paris with all places historically accurate. Most of those building looks accurately similar to original at present.

Story:- This is Hisotrical Action Romance in Paris. Fight for your love along with French history.

Character-Main Protogonist:- Main character ArnoVictorDorian is fun type Assassin and will make you smile with his innocence.

Age rating:- Mild romance (only kissing-twice) Some common bad words.

My review:- This is a awsome game in terms of graphic as well as gameplay. THIS GAME HAD SOME BUG ISSUES AT THE LAUNCH BUT IT IS NOW WORKS VERY WELL AND ITS SOLID.The story is not very deep but completely covers enough romance, dreadful revenge,Stunning visuals effects,Adventurous Actions,

Parkour around Paris with Arno as he can do all realistic climbing up and down. THE CUTSCENE AND SYNCHRONIZATION TRANSITIONS ARE INTESCE AND INNOVATIVE AND EPIC. Worth to take a leap in the series Assassins Creed.

Fun, But Very Flawed

I am a fervent defender of the AC series. I really enjoy most of them quite a bit. That being said, this one has probably been my least favorite entry, but that has nothing to do with the actual story. The story is decent, there are some fun set pieces, and Arno is an alright protagonist. It's also not that long compared to some of the newer entries, so if you're just trying to do the main storyline, you could probably beat it in a week or two.

At the same time, there's still so many bugs over a decade later. I'm writing this after crashing for maybe the tenth time during a week of playing. I am getting frustrated with the lack of fluidity in the free running- you're constantly jumping onto something and then getting stuck on an invisible wall, and that can be particularly annoying during some of the follow quests. The amount of guards, and the fact that they start attacking you for just running past them on the street, is absurd. Sometimes I'm just looking for a collectible and end up having to murder thirty people to open a chest that has next to no money in it... The fighting also feels so clunky and repetitive.

If you like the series, there's still some hours of fun to be had here, but this is definitely not the strongest entry.

When assassins creed was assassins creed

This game is the peak of assassins creed. The story is great and the parkour is very polished. When I finished it I felt a need for more. If you are looking for an assassins creed game to play if your bored of other games this is just the one. Not to long but long enough to give an amazing experience.

Rough Transition

Assassin's Creed: Unity is ambitious and a fresh overhaul for the series transitioning to a new era of presentation. But it's a rough transition at best.

The story, while interesting at first, kind of starts to feel cluttered and all over the place at the end. Plot threads don't have time to breathe and just go all over the place. The characters are also some of the least compelling that we've seen in a while. Our two lead characters, while decent, could've been more. And while there are some memorable characters and great performances, the story still ends up feeling messy.

The gameplay sees the biggest overhaul and is one of my biggest issues with the game. The new movement system is meant to feel fluid and polished, but it presents more troubles than it does improvements. It looks fluid, but it doesn't feel so. The parkour is great, for the most park. But the combat feels sluggish and unresponsive. In addition to the sluggish combat, the game also has a gear system of sorts, which also adds to the frustration of combat.

It might just be me, but after playing all the previous AC games, Unity just doesn't feel good to play compared to the Americas Saga.

At least the sandbox/open world that we're given is mostly fun to traverse and explore. It's a well-designed world with lots of interesting content.

Overall, Unity is decent and kind of frustrating. Easily my least favourite game in the series due to its clunkiness and messy story.

Bug Creed

Just when I thought the Assassin's Creed series was going someone special after Black Flag and now that thought has faded away.

Assassin's Creed: Unity was another game in 2014 that was way over hyped. But for once I actually understood why, I mean Black Flag did well and that game got so many positive ratings from people and like every year Ubisoft has to rush out another game to keep the love coming , and Unity blows my mind, not be the game graphs or the story and characters, actually it blows my mind how unfinished this game really is.

The main character of the game "Arno", is basically like Conner from Creed 3. I think those two have a lot in common, I mean they both boring, shallow, uninteresting and flat out douche bags. I didn't really give a fuss about his revenge story that's been done before and it's already getting tried by now. Arno's character ark was like watching a old dead tree trying to act for the sake of it.

Now let's talk about the graphs in the game and I got to say the graphs in the background looked really pretty and I can see a lot of time and effort went into that, but I think the time and effort only went to the graphs and nothing else, because character effect's keep getting all buggy and it's the same with everything else around me. People falling through the ground, buildings acting up on me and people teleporting to different places out of nowhere. It's a mess and some of the graphs looked extremely unfinished.

The action is okay, nothing really special just the basic action from the past Creed series.

Overall Unity is a buggy, laughably unfinished mess. It's a real same, this game could have been pretty fantastic revenge story, but the game problems do hold it back and the cracks do show in this one.

Vive la France, vive la Republique!

The video game and the representation of the France during this period was quiet accurate i enjoyed it. And if you dont like the assassin creed story, like myself, you will enjoy the different quest and the way you can explore different region of the game. Pretty good overall.

Another actual GOOD Assassin'c Creed game (Still has a few flaws though.)

Alright let me start with, this is a good game. People say it has glitches but I can assure you that most of them have been patched in updates. Anyways, this game is a genuine good Assassin's Creed game that makes you feel like an actual Assassin. The game play with swords and guns and stuff is great, and feels amazing. The combat is top tier with no frame lags at all on my console (series x). The biggest flaw in my opinion though, is our main protagonist because MY GOD is he an idiot. Our main character is a guy named Arno, who wants to like expose the true powers of the French Revolution or something and it is not the most interesting sort of story, and Arno does not make it any better. I just feel like he has no emotion whatsoever and he feels like he's an AI. He does have some character depth though, I did feel sympathy for him when his dad died early on but he just isn't a character than you feel for like Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption II. But the best part of the game other than the combat and graphics, is this is the main multiplayer Assassin's Creed game. You can play co op with your friends via playstation plus or xbox live gold is a ground breaker for Assassin's Creed and it's such a shame they didn't add multiplayer to all the other games. Overall I recommend Assassin's Creed Unity if you wanna try one of the Assassin's Creed games out or if your a die hard fan or if you liked black flag.

Go back to unity,it's fixed

Most people don't realize how much better unity is now, compared to the assassins creed games we've been getting for the last 6 years, this is so much better, the launch was bad but now it is way better, less bugs, better combat, higher fps,it's really looked down on and makes it look bad,but it's really not,I just played it recently,it works great and is beautiful, great parkour mechanics, and a must play assassins creed game, one of the best................and is very close to my favorite,it was really made to push the latest consoles at the time to their limits, and it did,but it really is amazing. Amazing story, should not be looked down in this much.😔

Loved it!

I've played all the assassins creed games over the years except Rogue. I always avoided Unity because of the problems when released. But I tried it recently and I was pleasantly surprised. OK there's some bugs still there but it doesn't ruin the enjoyment of the game. The pros outweigh the cons. I loved the story , plus the look and atmosphere of revolutionary Paris is amazing. Its very stealth based which I loved and the combat system is exactly the way it should be in an assassins creed game.

It's a shame the release in 2014 was so bad it tainted Unity's reputation. I liked the games that came after Unity ,but I honestly believe that this was the last great assassins creed game. If it wasn't for some bugs still there I'd score it 10 out of 10, and as a regular player of this series I don't say that lightly. I enjoyed it that much and I wanted more when I finished it. The DLC is free and is decent enough.

Mirage has just been released and I hope it's like this. If you haven't tried it yet, go ahead. I very much enjoyed it.

No potential redemption or comeback

People who are making excuses for Unity probably have never tried the PC version. Ubisoft didn't even make an effort to release any update that would fix the glitches, lag spikes, animation errors, unsynced voice dialogs, etc. Unity is like an injured soldier left forgotten in battlefield. The last original AC of its kind is treated as if it was a buried toy.

Soldiers are horrendously placed over the map, it feels like the person who made the map didn't even try to play a round of Unity. Sword fights are extremely tiring so obviously players prefer the stealth approach, which is also broken as enemies can easily detect movements from kilometers away.

The story is pretty much bellow average and that epic trailer is just about the co-op missions which "shockingly" is unavailable due to connection errors.

Trash

Straight trash of a game. I'm slowly working my way through the Assassin's Creed series, and this is my first time playing Unity. This game is the WORST of the series so far. The gameplay mechanics were worse than even the first of the series, before they became more refined. To go from Black Flag/Rogue to this is pure incompetence. Climbing and battles are so incredibly bad it's more frustrating than fun. The only part of the ENTIRE GAME THAT I enjoyed were the Murder Mystery sections. The rest is garbage. The story is okay, but just watch a YouTube video of the story and skip playing this game entirely. I really hope the next games are better than this.
