Crappiest, Lamest, Plot less Movie

The most lame, boring, plot less movie ever seen, complete with absolutely lame actors and annoying cats. This movie is not a cute one where cute, charming cats take over. It is an extremely annoying, plot less, and arduous one to watch. The mother, in particular, was beyond limits in her level of annoyingness and bad acting. It was shocking to see her just sit there while the 'Santa Claus' was choking - one could not even tell if her look was one of concern or one of disgust and hate. The child's acting was much better than that of the adults. Santa Claus also acted well - BUT, the storyline was very poor. Nothing was coherent or synchronized well, the Santa Claus's personality was made into an annoying one, the mother was despicable from the start, the child could not act well for the life of him, and the annoying cats never took anything seriously, despite all the catastrophe. A big waste of over an hour watching this crap.

Claw Away Now

A copycat movie with the same old Christmas theme. Starring 3 little kittens and a kid obsessed with a Christmas tree. Santa Claus is allergic to cats what an absurd plot. Lost interest 5 minutes into the movie, however writing this review to save others from boredom and ruining their Christmas spirit. There is no single sentence which makes you smile let alone go on a laugh riot. Please give it a miss ..... Horrendous effort even for a low budget movie. Christmas movies need to be fun this does not have any maybe a good movie for the feline fans who like to cuddle up with their pets when they watch it. Claw out your way around this movie ...!!!

Cringeworthy

I like Christmas movies and live with a cat. So I guess I should be a the target audience for this movie.

But the movie is terrible and unenjoyable at every level.

The production is cheap, acting is bad, and story is uninteresting. The Santa Claus character is not really likable and there is no magic about him. The premise of the movie is that Santa is allergic to cats and has pretty much every common allergy. The story takes place 95% in one house and the block around. There are only 4 characters (excluding the cats) and they are pretty much all the human beings you get to see in the movie. The movie feels really... Small.

Other reviewers say the movie is so bad it's enjoyable for laughs, or they think some of it is made in purpose. It's not. This movie will only make you cringe.

Maybe some young children could enjoy this movie, but then again, why not have them watch something of better quality that is enjoyable for all the family?

Total garbage

Worst f--ING thing I've ever seen. I think the seeing this movie ruined not just my Christmas, but also my marriage. My daughter's school had a politically correct Christmas concert this year - with no mention of the word Christmas, and it was more entertaining than this film. Watching this movie obit reminds you that life is pointless and one day we will all die... ultimately alone.

Classic B Movie

Toddler loves this movie. It's a great b movie. It's so bad that it's good. This is so cringeworthy, it seems like it could easily have been a horror movie.

Deck the halls with lots of kittens...

Admittably, I didn't really have much of any expectations to this movie, given the synopsis of the storyline. But still, this was a movie that I sat down with the family to watch "Santa Claws" during the Christmas holidays of 2016.

Now, I will say that "Santa Claws" actually turned out to be a rather enjoyable family movie. And it definitely was much better than what I had initially expected.

The story is a bit silly, admittedly, especially for an adult audience. However, the storyline in "Santa Claws" is perfect for the Young members of the family. Jolly old Santa Claus becomes unable to finish his yearly gift run, and a group of kittens have to step up to make sure that Christmas runs its course and that the presents are delivered.

Yeah right, you are thinking that too. And no one would blame you, because the storyline really is silly. But the children love it.

"Santa Claws" actually turned out to be wholehearted and quite entertaining, taking into consideration what it was. And despite a somewhat silly storyline, then there actually was something for everyone in the family to enjoy here. Personally, I was entertained by the cute kittens running around, and I got sucked in to the story quite easily.

This is definitely a movie that is more than well-suited for the younger members of the family, but it is also a movie that the entire family can sit down together and enjoy.

I must admit that I was a bit puzzled by the low rating that the movie had acquired here on IMDb, because I found it to be a rather enjoyable movie actually, just don't put too much into it - take it for what it is.

My rating of "Santa Claws" is a 6 out of 10 stars, as it is a very suitable movie for the entire family.

Silly but cute

This isn't a great movie by any means. But it's cute. It's geared toward children. Sure, there's line several times is it that there's no Santa, but he does appear and the kittens save the day.

Very low budget of course, but not as bad as it's been painted.

No. Just no.

Within the first 15 minutes it said the dreaded sentence parents fear 'santa isnt real' whaaaaa?? Turned it off seconds later. Theres enough people that ruin the magic for children. Judging by the rest of the reviews weve not missed anything.

Snuggle up with your kitty and some popcorn!

I liked this movie. If you are a cat lover, it's one to snuggle up with your kitty and some popcorn and enjoy the show! I thought the CGI affects were well done. I think it will become an annual cult classic type Christmas movie with the cat lovers out there. Yes, you have to let yourself go and just enjoy the movie for what it is, a fun little Christmas movie. Yes, it's a little on the B low budget side, but not anymore than most of the Lifetime movies I've seen. I actually think it's a darling little movie that leaves you with a feel good feeling. And what more could I want from a holiday movie? The kittens are adorable and the kid does a fairly good job as an actor. And the actors that did the voices of the kittens and the mom cat were perfect matches. And the head reindeer were a hoot! I even liked Tinsel, and thought it was a great creative touch with the sleigh. If you love lighthearted Christmas movies with a Santa theme and love cats, you'll like this one! To the "Scrooge" reviewers, I say lighten up, plug in your Christmas lights and lose yourself in the fantasy for 90 minutes! To the one reviewer who thinks it's a parody on holiday films, and will watch it annually, good for you! :) I didn't see it that way, but at least you're in the holiday spirit of things. I'm going to buy it on DVD. I'm addicted to Christmas movies and my fur-baby (my cat) liked it, which is why it got an 8 with me!

So deliberately bad it's quite enjoyable

In the tradition of Shaun of the Dead or Fido, the humour is campy and the effects deliberately annoying.

The cats are a wondrous mockery of those endless puppies-save-Christmas movies.

The kids universally can't act 'realistically' and the adults are B-move standards, but there are some wonderfully over-the-top freak-outs.

This is absolutely not a movie to be taken seriously, just to be enjoyed for its send-up of pretty much every Christmas movie trope out there.

only because i can't rate it 0

I'm sure it's great for third-graders and younger, although I might be being generous going that old. I am not in third grade, nor do I have anyone in that age group in my house. while I can tolerate many things, this was essentially a Christmas episode of too cute on animal planet but with an attempt at plot. I couldn't finish it.

Unbelievable tone

In the 1st 5 mins they said twice that there is no Santa. Here I am with my little kids trying to watch a family Christmas movie. Very disappointed. The tone and attitude of the characters were a real put off as well. I felt miserable watching this. I quit 15 mins in.

A cat-astrophe alright

Despite my reservations about the ridiculousness of the premise (and it was) and finding the cover looking like most cheap-looking family film covers, watched 'Santa Claws' anyway because of my love of Christmas films/specials, anything Christmas and finding kittens cute and usually very difficult to dislike.

Actually sort of wanted to like 'Santa Claws' in a guilty pleasure sort of way, but unfortunately it is as awful as the rating and reviews say and as far as Christmas-themed films go it is down there as one of the worst. Should have trusted my reservations, but wanted to be fair on the film as is intended with every film viewed. Can't find much redeeming about it, other than perhaps the odd nice soundtrack choice. There is no warmth or charm at all, lots of mean spirit and what should have been easy to like actually grated.

'Santa Claws' is a cheap-looking film, with colours that are both drab and garish, less than slick and sometimes gimmicky photography and tacky editing that indicated it was all hastily put together. At best the effects are slapdash and again indicative of very rushed and under-budgeted production.

The script fails completely at being tongue-in-cheek, is full of cheese and awkwardness and is very childish and lacking in wit. The story is paper thin and padded while also being very jumpy and rushed structurally, which made the excessive over-familiarity less forgivable. The Christmas spirit just isn't there, there is no charm or warmth, the cute parts are a mix of saccharine and annoying and some of it is mean-spirited and distasteful. Detected no enthusiasm in the direction.

None of the characters are engaging, with the kittens being more obnoxious than cute when there were signs of proper personality going on, their resourcefulness never being sincere or well-intentioned and making for head-scratching moments. Even worse is one of the most despicable bullying mother figures in any family film and the kid is annoying. The acting generally has no energy and some of the actors, especially with the mother, over-act in almost pantomime fashion.

Concluding, awful catastrophe of a film. 1/10 Bethany Cox

Good movie!

It's a good movie, don't be dramatic. If you like Christmas and cats, then you'll like the movie. I've always liked movies with pets, and happy endings.

Warning: Talks about Santa not being real.

I wasn't impressed that there were several mentions of Santa not being real while I was watching with my four year old son whom you'd think this type of story would be suitable for. I get by the end they probably reveal how Santa is real after all, but given it's such a terrible film and it isn't likely to be watched to the end, be mindful of the message it might send/leave. Thankfully my son didn't comment but I was furious! - It was the first Christmas movie we'd sat down together to watch so not good!

Literally anything else would have been a better way to spend this movie's budget

They could have decorated a town square. Fed the homeless. Donated to cancer research. Bought medicine for sick children in Africa. But no. Instead we got this. I can't even formulate an adequate articulation of how crap this film is. I think I hate Christmas now.

Great movie despite the terrible reviews.

If you're a fan of the made for TV/VHS movies of the '90s this is a really enjoyable film. The plot is good, the acting is good, of course nothing is great in this but it is good. It is heesy as a Christmas movie SHOULD be. Don't the reviews sway you, give this movie a chance.

I disagree with the other reviews

I think this movie was amazing. THE CGI, the over-the-top acting, the bad cutaways, the entire premise itself...If you're the type to sit around and laugh at horrible low-budget films, I definitely recommend watching it. Perhaps with a couple of drinks. I can imagine if I'd watched this as a child I would have actually, sincerely enjoyed it in the way it was intended, so I'd definitely recommend watching this with the kids. They'll enjoy the silly talking animals, and you can enjoy how bad it is. It's so bad, it's somehow actually good. I feel like it's all very tongue-in-cheek, they must have known what they were doing. Many of the lines had me in tears, not because they were actually funny -- but because of the way they were delivered. I hope these guys make more films, I would happily sit and watch another if it was in the same vain as this one. I hope those kittens found good homes in real life.

2 for the kittens and the Bill and Ted reindeer.

Possibly the worst film I've seen and I've watched the start of The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine. Bad acting, bad dialogue, bad editing, bad plot. But! There's cute kittens and you can watch for the goofs. Particularly liked that they either couldn't afford enough fake snow to cover the blanket in the 'kittens lost in the snowy wilderness scene' or they just couldn't give. Or as a parent baulk at the audacity of in the first few minutes the 'Mom' telling the son that 'Santa's not real he was made up by a soda company'. I for one had to do some very quick damage control. Merry Christmas everyone.
