According to Deadline, on Monday, Hallmark announced that it had renewed the hit mystery series Mistletoe Murders. This means that Sarah Drew will return as Emily Lane, Peter Mooney as Detective Sam Wilner, and Sierra Marilyn Riley as Sam’s teenage daughter, Violet. She works for her mom at Under the Mistletoe, the year-round store for all things Christmas.

Deadline made the announcement today, giving fans an incredibly early holiday present — and right on the cusp of spring! Hallmark Media has officially renewed Mistletoe Murders for a second season. The hit holiday mystery series stars Grey’s Anatomy alum Sarah Drew as Emily Lane, a small-town Christmas shop owner with a secret past.

The series from Lionsgate Canada and Headspinner Productions also features Peter Mooney (Rookie Blue) as local detective Sam Wilner and Sierra Marilyn Riley as his teenaged daughter Violet, who works at Emily’s store.

"Wicked," the hit film based on the Broadway music of the same name has garnered a lot of love from audiences and critics alike. While our own review found it a bit messy, the majority of critics appreciated the bright, bold Broadway adaptation, praising the performances of stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in particular. They both act and sing their hearts out as Glinda (the "Good Witch") and Elphaba (the "Wicked Witch of the West") respectively, which led some fans to be completely shocked when they checked the Oscar nomination announcements and saw that "Wicked" had not been nominated for either Best Original Song or Best Original Score.

As Hollywood still mourns David Lynch’s passing, New York’s Metrograph Theater is honoring the late auteur.

IndieWire can announce the Metrograph will be hosting all-day David Lynch marathon tribute on February 19 with Lynch’s longtime collaborator cinematographer Frederick Elmes onsite.

Elmes will be participating in panels, and also is lending his personal 35mm print of “Wild at Heart” for the mini festival. Elmes was the cinematographer on a trio of Lynch films, “Eraserhead,” “Blue Velvet,” and “Wild at Heart.”

“It’s been such a privilege to be part of David’s unique vision, one that transports us to worlds that are familiar and mysterious, frightening and dark, beautiful and inspirational,” Elmes told IndieWire with the Metrograph announcement. “I’ll miss him dearly.”

On Thursday, Hollywood industry publication Production Weekly included a new production that could interest Hearties. In the January 9 issue, they listed four Hallmark productions including When Calls The Heart 13.

Could Production Weekly have shared an old post? That doesn’t seem likely. When Calls The Heart Season 12 was renewed in May 2024.

There are also other considerations. Production Weekly usually adds projects about to be filmed or about to be announced. In general, Wcth doesn’t film until around July.

This was a Christmas treat for Hallmark Channel fans. Four The Good Witch cast members reunited at Christmas Con in New Jersey in December 2024. Catherine Bell, Catherine Disher, James Denton, and Sarah Power addressed the revival rumors that have been swirling around.

What Happened?

In July 2021, Hallmark Channel canceled the series despite its popularity. A year later, Variety reported that The Good Witch could return at some point. Since then, getting a revival back on the network has been a push and pull. Hallmark Media then shared they were done with this story.

During the 2024 Christmas Con panel, Bell admitted that she missed filming the show. She felt that the ending was abrupt. “I think we were all a bit surprised that it ended. It seemed to end a little bit sooner than I think everyone wanted. Certainly, from what you guys were telling us as well,” Bell explained, per Entertainment Now.

It has been four and a half years since Good Witch ended with Season 7. However, Goodies have been holding out hope. Could Hallmark bring back the magical series for a movie? Here is what some of the cast recently said about that possibility.

Ariana Grande started her career on the Broadway musical 13, and is now featured in Universal Pictures' adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical Wicked, where she plays Glinda. However, since her debut and Nickelodeon show, Grande has also become one of the biggest pop stars in the world.

Grande, credited as Ariana Grande-Butera in Wicked, has had a long relationship with the Broadway musical and has always yearned to be Glinda. So, when she finally got a chance to play the Good Witch of the South, Grande had only one request. Speaking to the LA Times, the team behind Wicked explained how Ariana Grande transformed into Glinda and how she stood up to maintain the essence of the character instead of molding her to her real-life persona.

Grande appeared on the NBC late-night show on October 12 and is seemingly still holding on to Antonio.

“He’s still with me, you know?” Grande told host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “I’m still unpacking the emotional weight of Antonio with my therapist.”

In the sketch “Castriti,” Grande plays Antonio, who is presented by his parents (Andy Samberg and Maya Rudolph) as a performer who, following a castration process, is able to preserve his high-pitched vocals.

The sketch went viral after screenshots of Grande as Antonio were shared on social media. Grande’s interpretation of Antonio as a dead-eyed castrato and bowl-cut wig has been used for memes.

The upcoming film Wicked is adapted from the popular musical, which tells the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a promising young student ostracized for her green skin, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), Elphaba's popular and privileged roommate. The unlikely duo gradually change until they become The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West and Good Witch, respectively. Yet it seems the prequel includes unexpected turns within their relationship. While the musical tells the story in just under three hours, the film will actually be split into two parts, with only the first coming out this year. Splitting a story into two films, especially one that already has a fanbase, is a common practice, but it doesn't always work. Some two-part films feel like a cash grab rather than a good narrative choice, but in Wicked's case, the split makes sense.

It's beginning to look a lot like the most wonderful time of the year, and Netflix is pulling out all the stops to ensure that's especially true this year.
