Kim’s career faced challenges following a drink-driving incident in May 2022. The actress crashed her car into a guardrail, trees, and a transformer, leading to a temporary power outage in southern Seoul.

In April 2023, she was fined approximately £11,000 (20 million won) for the incident. Following the controversy, her role in Bloodhounds was significantly reduced, which ultimately became her last project.

Anderson died Saturday after a “brutal struggle with cancer,” his wife of 21 years, actress Saxon Trainor, and her brother-in-law, Michael O’Malley, announced in an Instagram post.

Laird Koenig, who wrote “The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane,” died in Santa Barbara on June 30, Jamie Dixon, the son of Koenig’s collaborator Peter L. Dixon, told Variety. He was 95.

Koenig was an American author and screenwriter whose novel was adapted into the 1976 Jodie Foster-led horror movie “The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane.”

He was born on Sept. 14, 1927, in Seattle, and would go on to attend the University of Washington. Koenig worked in advertising before being approached by Peter L. Dixon, whom he would collaborate with extensively throughout his career, and went on to write for the adventure television series “Flipper.”

Koenig also wrote the screenplay for “The Cat” which starred Roger Perry, and the 1969 production of “The Dozens” which starred Al Freeman Jr., Morgan Freeman and Paula Kelly.

Laird Koenig, who adapted his novel for the screenplay to the 1976 cult film The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, a controversial horror thriller starring a teenage Jodie Foster, has died. He was 95.

Koenig died June 30 of natural causes in Santa Barbara, Jamie Dixon, the son of Koenig’s frequent writing partner, Peter L. Dixon, told The Hollywood Reporter.

Koenig also received a writing credit on three films directed by Terence Young: Red Sun (1971), starring Charles Bronson, Toshiro Mifune, Alain Delon and Ursula Andress; Bloodline (1979), starring Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara and James Mason; and Inchon (1981), starring Gazzara, Laurence Olivier and Jacqueline Bisset.

His 1970 novel The Children Are Watching, co-written with Dixon, was turned into the French film Attention Les Enfants Regardent (1978), starring Delon.

Jefferson Hall has been announced as the lead actor in Emirati film director and producer Nayla Al Khaja’s psychological thriller Three.

Set in a bustling modern-day Middle Eastern city, the drama revolves around the case of a young boy whose increasingly strange behavior leads his mother to believe he is possessed.

UK actor Hall, whose credits include House of the Dragon, Halloween and Oppenheimer, plays a Western doctor who is consulted by the mother as she tries to get to the bottom of what is wrong with her son.

Barcelona-based production-distribution-sales outfit Filmax has taken on international sales on Spanish director Víctor García León’s new comedy “One Hell of a Holiday!”

Filmax is presenting the trailer to international buyers at this week’s Malaga Film Festival at Mafiz’s Spanish Screenings Content, a massive industry platform where Filmax is also talking up a raft of titles led by “Girl, Unknown” and “Co-Husbands.”

“All the Colours” is the feature film debut of Apalowo, who was born in Ogbagi-Akoko, Nigeria, and is U.K.-based. Pic is world premiering in Berlin’s Panorama section. Genre regular Marcus Dunstan has just set up his next film! Clay Epstein’s Film Mode Entertainment (Fme) and Roundtable Entertainment have announced that Dunstan will be directing All My Friends Are Dead, with Jade Pettyjohn of the School of Rock TV series on board to star.

In Madrid for the launch of HBO Max in Spain, Andorra and four Nordic countries, Warner Media’s commissioning editor and VP of original programming Miguel Salvat announced the commission of “Poor Devil,” (“Pobre Diablo”) a new series produced for the streamer by Buendia Estudios with animation done at Granada’s Rokyn Animation Studios.

Joining Salvat on stage in the Spanish capitol were Christina Sulebakk, general manager, HBO Max, Emea, and Joana Silva, VP programming & acquisitions HBO Max Iberia.

Sulebakk used her time in the spotlight to highlight several key details already known about the arrival of HBO Max, while drilling down on the differences between HBO España as it currently exists, and HBO Max as it will exist starting tomorrow.

Set to launch in Europe later this year, HBO Max has bolstered its originals pipeline with the announcement of “García!” a new series to be produced in Spain based on the popular graphic novel of the same name by authors Santiago García and Luis Bustos.

Miguel Salvat, Steve Matthews and Antony Root, the trio behind HBO España’s fan-favorite horror thriller “30 Coins” from Spanish maestro Alex de la Iglesia, are teaming once again as executive producers on the six-hour series.

“’García!’ is a project with enormous narrative and epic visual ambition. The tiniest details combine to become an action-packed adventure series, sometimes honoring the great genre traditions, but sometimes blowing them up. Netflix has announced a crop of upcoming projects in Spain, including three new drama series, two original films, and a pair of reality shows.

The series are:

Intimacy (Intimidad), which has been created by Verónica Fernández and Laura Sarmiento, directed by Jorge Torregrossa, Ben Gutteridge, Marta Font, Koldo Almandoz and stars Itziar Ituño, Patricia López Arnaiz, Verónica Echegui, Ana Wagener and Emma Suárez. The show follows four women who are forced to walk the thin line that separates public life from private life after sexual video of a politician with a promising future is released.

Baruca is a six-part action series created by Victor Sierra and Xosé Morais, directed by Óscar Pedraza, and starring Alberto Ammann and Luis Callejo. It is set in the psychiatric prison Monte Baruca on December 24, when a group of armed men surround the complex and cut of all communication with the outside world.

At one of its increasingly regular presentations, on Thursday Netflix Spain unveiled seven new projects including “If Only,” a Spanish adaptation of the Netflix Turkish original canceled before shooting by Turkish authorities.

Where once Netflix would host its presentations early in the year and announce its ambitions for the next 12 months, the platform’s original Spanish programming pipeline has grown to an extent that Thursday’s showcase only covers the next few months and hinted at plenty more to come in late 2021.

In both level and volume of production, the day’s announcements confirm Netflix as one of if not the, foremost investors in original Spanish series and movies, at the same as its talent pool is expanding to include ever more of the principal producers in Spain. Tiffany Haddish, meanwhile, will be celebrating Hanukkah with her newest stand-up special “Black Mitzvah,” in which she shares how she’s embracing her roots after discovering her father’s Eritrean-Jewish heritage.

Kevin Hart’s new special also hits Netflix this month. His docu-series “Don’t F**k This Up” will highlight his Oscar hosting controversy, as well as his daily life.

Leading off the lineup is the eagerly awaited Noah Baumbach family drama “Marriage Story” starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. While that starts streaming on Dec. 6, another awards hopeful, “The Two Popes,” with Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Tony champ Jonathan Pryce, won’t hit the service till Dec. 19.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Netflix is programming a slew of holiday fare, including the third entry in the “A Christmas Prince” franchise, as well as the one-offs “A Family Reunion Christmas,” “Home for Christmas” and “Three Days of Christmas.”

Netflix has released their list of everything coming and going throughout the month of December.

There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that we’re gaining Season 2 of “You,” which features Penn Badgley as a handsome murderer who seems to kill the women he loves the most. In a surprising twist, we’re also getting the 2005 classic, “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl,” and other highlights like Ian Somerhalder’s new vampire show “V Wars,” “Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah,” and the new Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson-led film “Marriage Story.”

The bad news is, we’re losing Season 7-11 of Anthony’s Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown.” We’re also losing “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Billy Elliott,” “Rain Man,” “Pulp Fiction,” and “Rocky” I-v.

While you might expect the month of December to mark a wave of holiday-related content when it comes to streaming services, it looks like Netflix has a lot more than a few Christmas specials coming down the pipeline next month. Sonic X (Seasons 1 and 2) – While his big screen debut isn’t set to release until February, everyone’s favorite anthropomorphic hedgehog is still making a splash on Netflix in December. The first two seasons of this Japanese animated series will be available for streaming on the 1st and for those unfamiliar, the show follows Sonic and the gang as they attempt to save one of their friends after being accidentally teleported to Earth.

Rlje Films will release the action/thriller Into The Ashes on DVD and Blu-ray on September 3, 2019. We have a brand new trailer for Into the Ashes. In any given year, a number of movies will slip through the cracks for may viewers, simply because there is so much stuff being released on a variety of platforms. It's impossible to keep up, especially during the very crowded summer movie season. This movie runs the risk of succumbing to such a fate, but based on this first trailer, maybe it shouldn't. Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) leads the way in what looks like it very well could be an under the radar action/thriller to keep an eye on.

The trailer kicks off with a lot of ominous and clearly vengeful voiceover that leads to a tense confrontation between two men whose beef will be at the center of this tale. There is some action to behold, but the footage goes a little light on the guns and body count.

In addition to coming up with some of the most twisted traps in cinema with their screenplays for Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, and Saw 3D, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton also brought nightmares to life in The Collector and The Collection, and while the news front for a third film has been relatively quiet since the release of the second movie in 2012, it's now been revealed that a third film is moving forward.

On Twitter, Josh Stewart, who plays the lead character of Arkin in The Collector films, revealed the first teaser poster for The Collector 3 (see below), seemingly confirming that the anticipated sequel is moving forward. Stewart captioned the poster (featuring the stylized title The COLL3ECTOR) with three ominous words: "Lock the door". Patrick Melton also shared the teaser poster on his Twitter account.

Continuing its investment in Spanish originals, Netflix has unveiled five new projects which will launch on the service worldwide in 2020. In various stages of development and production, they include superhero comedy El Vecino (The Neighbor), based on the graphic novels by Santiago Garcia and Pepo Perez. Colossal and Timecrimes filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo directs the series from Elite‘s Zeta Audiovisual.

Also in the mix, Elite‘s co-creator, Carlos Montero, has a new project in the works for Netflix. El Desorden Que Dejas (The Mess You Leave Behind) is a psychological drama based on Montero’s own award-winning novel.

There are two female-centered series to come including dramedy Valeria based on the novels by Elísabet Benavent, and Días De Navidad (Christmas Days) starring Fortitude‘s Verónica Echegui, Las Chicas Del Cable‘s Anna Moliner and High Heels‘ Victoria Abril.

Although it's been over seven years since the last Final Destination movie was released in theaters, death is always omnipresent, and it's looking to return with a vengeance in a new Final Destination movie written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that a sixth Final Destination film is in the works at New Line Cinema, with Melton and Dunstan writing the screenplay.

Plot details for the new Final Destination movie have yet to be revealed, but the latest entry to the franchise is described by THR as a "re-imagining." Hey, look! Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum actually co-stars in a new movie coming out with William Fichtner (Elysium, 12 Strong) called The Neighbor. This actually looks like a decent thriller that would be worth checking out... if this trailer didn't basically tell us the whole damn story! 

The story follows a "middle-aged man (Fichtner) in a stagnant marriage becomes voyeuristically obsessed with an attractive young woman (Jessica McNamee) when she and her seemingly abusive husband (Rosenbaum) move in next door."

If you're a fan of either of these actors, maybe you'll want to check this out. Who knows, maybe there's some kind of twist in the story that isn't in this trailer. The Neighbor was directed by Aaron Harvey (Catch .44) and it's set to be released in theaters and on VOD on January 26th, 2018.
