Baby Driver

2/10

All Style, No Substance

I truly don't understand the praise surrounding Baby Driver. While it may look stylish on the surface, a closer look reveals just how flimsy this film really is. The acting is flat across the board-characters come off more like caricatures than actual people, delivering lines with little emotion or believability. Even with a solid cast on paper, no one feels genuinely invested in their roles.

The story is where things really fall apart. It's riddled with massive plot holes that the writers try to patch with forced dialogue and unrealistic leaps in logic. Characters make sudden decisions that no rational person would make, simply to keep the plot moving. It's lazy storytelling disguised as cleverness.

The main character's backstory is weak and unconvincing. We're expected to buy into his motivations with minimal explanation, and his relationships-especially the romantic one-feel rushed and unearned. By the time the film reaches its ending, you're left wondering why any of it happened the way it did. The finale tries to be poignant, but instead feels hollow and nonsensical.

I honestly don't know why this movie has such a strong following. In my opinion, it's one of the worst films I've sat through in years. Style without substance, logic without reason, and characters without depth-Baby Driver is all flash, no soul.
