Principally, the scary ones. I’m discussing classics from the BBC and ABC Horror Movie of the Week programming list. Sweetly, I first got into them with my mom, who considered them a cornerstone of my horror education. During the movie's final act, the Merc with the Mouth and Logan battled the Deadpool Corps and were saved from a rematch when "Peterpool" showed up and earned the approval of Ladypool and company. Later, we'd learn that the Corps were sent back to The Void.

Having achieved critical success with his 2023 release, May December, filmmaker Todd Haynes joined forces with Joker star Joaquin Phoenix for an untitled gay romance. Even though the Oscar-winner was heavily involved with its screenplay alongside Haynes, just five days before the production was set to commence, Phoenix abruptly pulled out.

As for the aftermath, the whole thing has been a nightmare per producer Christine Vachon, who defended her decision to cast Phoenix, a heterosexual person, in the shoes of a gay character.

The show featured a diverse cast and LGBTQ+ plotlines, making its cancelation even more frustrating for fans who wanted to see more representation. Netflix's trend of canceling shows after only one season, including popular fantasy genres like Warrior Nun, may impact their viewer base in the long run.

However, the cancelation of one particular fantasy show with 84% on Rotten Tomatoes still makes me sad over a year later. Premiering on Netflix in July 2020, Simon Barrys Warrior Nun had generally positive reviews when it was released. Its fresh plot, involving a 19-year-old waking in a morgue to discover she is now part of an ancient order of demon-fighting nuns, was surprising when it was first released.

The Boys star Laz Alonzo cherishes his time working in the Fast & Furious franchise. However, he can't help but take a subtle jab at the film series' more outlandish direction after featuring in the "grounded" fourth installment.

Speaking with Wired, Alonzo recalled his time working on 2009's Fast & Furious, the fourth film of the titular action franchise, which saw him star alongside Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Gal Gadot and Michelle Rodriguez. Alonzo insisted he was proud of working on one of the "original" Fast & Furious films while suggesting it was more rooted in reality than later sequels. "I can probably say that I was in one of the original Fast and Furious [movies] before they went into space, or cars turning into submarines. We were very grounded in the one that we did, and I'm very proud of the work that we did together," he said.

At least three main cast members from Young Sheldon will return for the upcoming spinoff series, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. Fans will not have to wait too long to see the characters return, but it shouldn't be expected for them to stick around for long.

Previously, it was revealed that the new spinoff would see guest appearances from Zoe Perry (Mary), Annie Potts (Meemaw), and Raegan Revord (Missy). Speaking with TVLine, executive producer Steve Molaro shared exactly which episodes will feature the returning Cooper family members. By far, the story of the year is Barbenheimer (the same weekend release of Barbie and Oppenheimer), proving in the digital age that something weird and organic can take hold, and get more people to the theaters, celebrating a true movie event. A new horror film from A24 is on the way, with some big names involved in the upcoming title.

As reported by Deadline, A24 is working on a new horror film entitled Opus. The film is set to be led by breakout star Ayo Edebiri and film veteran John Malkovich. The film is written and will be directed by Mark Anthony Green, making it his first feature. Opus will also supposedly star a myriad of names from recent screen hits, including The White Lotus' Emmy-winning Murray Bartlett, Beef's Emmy-nominated Young Mazino and Tatanka Means of Killers of the Flower Moon. Academy Award nominee and Emmy-winning Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets) is not yet confirmed but allegedly discussing a role in Opus as well.

Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie was the top winner at the 2023 Critics Choice Documentary Awards, which were handed out Sunday night.

Among the other prizes the film collected was the best narration award for Michael J. Fox. It also won best biographical documentary, best direction for Davis Guggenheim and best editing for Michael Harte for a total of five awards overall.

Elsewhere, Jon Batiste won best score for American Symphony on the heels of his five Grammy noms, including album of the year. American Symphony also was named best music doc.

Death Grips are the latest act to fall victim to crowds who can’t behave themselves. The experimental hip-hop group ended a recent set in Fayetteville, Arkansas early after audience members continuously pelted them with glow sticks.

According to NME, fans threw objects at the band several times throughout the show, and Mc Ride left the stage and came back more than once before ultimately abandoning the gig for real. The trio was 25 songs into their reportedly 29-song set when they ended the performance.

As a Reddit user who attended the show recounted, “Someone threw a phone at them and Ride threw the mic on the ground and walked off and back. Someone threw a glowstick that hit him in the chest and he walked off, back and waiting for more. Another glowstick was thrown and they left.
