The pact will see Applause and Kabir Khan Films co-produce a pair of features, with Bollywood blockbuster maker Khan at the helm as director and creative production lead on both. Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is stable in hospital after a knife attack at his home left him with multiple wounds.

The attack happened in the early hours of the morning in Mumbai, where he lives in an apartment with his wife, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan, and children. The 54-year-old reportedly sustained six knife wounds, one of which was close to his spine, and underwent emergency surgery.

Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital told reports that the actor had “sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine.”

The knife was removed and repairs were made to leaking spinal fluid. Two other “deep wounds” one on his left hand and one on his neck, were also repaired. His team have released a statement saying he is “out of danger.”
