Trailer: ’11 Minutes’ Documentary Delves Into the Las Vegas Mass Shooting
Image
The two-minute trailer for Paramount+’s 11 Minutes documentary series opens with Country music fans enjoying the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas before their joy was erased by a mass shooter. Using interviews with concertgoers, cellphone footage, and other videos, 11 Minutes recalls the horrific mass shooting and its aftermath.

The four-part docuseries was directed by Emmy and Peabody-winning director Jeff Zimbalist and features the very first in-depth interview with Jason Aldean. The Country music star was actually on stage when the shooting began.

“When I turned around, my bass player was just looking at me like a deer in the headlights. And my security guy was on stage at that point, telling me to get down, waving me off the stage,” recalled Aldean.

Aldean admits to feeling survivor’s guilt. “It’s hard not to feel a little guilty. I mean, those people were there to support us,...

Jerzy Skolimowski in Essential Killing (2010)
Cannes Review: Jerzy Skolimowski’s Eo is a Bressonian Joy
Jerzy Skolimowski in Essential Killing (2010)
In one of analytic philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein’s most widely shared quotes, he mused that “if a lion could talk, we would not understand him.” The barrier of language and gulf of understanding between man and animal is the subject of the quite wondrous Eo, a true surprise from the great Polish filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski, now enjoying his mid-80s. It is adapted—freely inspired may be a better term—from Robert Bresson’s iconic 1966 film Au Hasard Balthazar; from Eo’s opening minutes any memory or sense of that masterpiece’s forbidding stature is banished—we’re dealing with quite a different animal here. No, it isn’t as good. But it’s different, and a companion piece that flatters both that film and itself.

For Bresson—a cruel moralist, but definitely not a sadist—the donkey Balthazar was meant to unveil the human capacity for sin; with intensely...

Yungblud: Pop-Punk Rebel on a Mission
The way he tells it, Yungblud had no choice but to be a rock star. In one of the first photos ever taken of him, a few hours after being born, he’s outside the hospital holding a ukulele with a painted image of the Beatles on the instrument’s face. Later, growing up in Doncaster, England — an industrial town that he describes as “the Detroit of the U.K.” — he never quite fit in with his peers. “I didn’t think I was going to be a lawyer,” he says matter-of-factly.

Halsey
Halsey showcased her recent single “Graveyard” as part of the MTV EMAs in Seville, Spain, offering a fantasy-themed performance of the track.

The performance opened with the singer lying in an overgrown field, singing as she writhed in the dirt, before she danced onto a carousel horse in the center of the floral-covered stage.

Yungblud, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons Perform ‘Original Me’ on ‘Colbert’
Dan Reynolds
Yungblud and Dan Reynolds (frontman of Imagine Dragons) gave a bombshell performance of their new song “Original Me” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Tuesday night. The track comes from Yungblud’s Underrated Youth Ep, out now.

The Colbert performance incorporates a rusty metallic car into the set, with the ever-boisterous Yungblud climbing on top of the hood and bouncing around the stage as he and Reynolds sing their “original loser” anthem. The 22-year-old English performer even throws in some hip-hop dance moves before diving into the song’s battle cry of a chorus.

Halsey unveiled the title of her third studio album on Thursday via Twitter, along with a link, which led to a livestream on YouTube. Song You Need To Know: Halsey, ‘Nightmare’
Halsey
Since the release of her 2014 Ep Room 93, Halsey has specialized in cinematic pop anthems and alternative R&B cuts, all anchored in her sweet but biting lilt and vivid coming of age anecdotes. Her latest single, “Nightmare” — produced by frequent collaborators Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat — signals a noteworthy creative shift. Instead of the dark pop of her debut, Badlands, or the electro-pop-r&B hybrid of Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, “Nightmare” is a clear nod to Halsey’s emo roots.

As a teen in New Jersey, Halsey has said she “grew...

The clip shows Halsey, decked in a flowing orange wig, leaving her job at the box office of a candy-colored movie palace. She passes by the seven Bts members, who are all dressed in pink and perched on a couch directly outside of the theater – an inexplicable scenario, but one that falls in line with the majority of Bts’s videos.

The clip doesn’t give much a way in terms of how...

Halsey
Yungblud attempts to save Halsey from a fatal car crash while reliving the events every day in the video for “11 Minutes.”

While at first Yungblud rushes while the clock is ticking to save Halsey from her unfortunate fate, he ends up instead focusing on their memories together, realizing that he can’t save her.
