You know how this one will go...

...because it's exactly like every other low-budget movie made about women loving women. There's not much to say except "Trisha" can't get over her dead father who passed five years ago. She can't function at work or at home; at this point, she should just be hospitalized if five years passed and she can't get through a single day without doing something related to her father. She treats her wife like crap and largely ignores her, so I guess it's no surprise that another person comes in and catches her wife's eye. Speaking of which, the flirtation scenes are just so over the top and drawn out. One scene has like two minutes of just staring closely and moving heads around within inches of each other to gaze without kissing. We also get graced with an extended high five that turns into intense staring for awhile. Umm...okay. And the end is lame, but I think they wanted to wrap it up quickly. The acting is fine, but the script, story, and directing are just terrible. In short, If Lifetime made "lesbian" films, this wouldn't be far from it. The two stars were because I was amused by the ridiculous script at times.

Perhaps if you've had stuff in your life ....

This movie is good. Life is full of stuff and distracts us and causes trouble or can also be a good thing. Not sure what expectations folks have on a movie but this was a good movie. Sure there are stereo types in all genres especially lgbt movies, but that's beside the point in the end. The production was good, story-line was good, love these actresses and a basic movie about sh^t people go through. Very believable and relatable. Perhaps those with no "life" wouldn't be able to relate. LOL

Life

This film is incredibly nuanced, which is a bad thing in the age of the internet, where everyone needs the good guy and bad guy spelled out for them.

Trisha treats her wife poorly, but Deb also isn't very supportive but who would be after 5 years and their partner is still in mourning, barely able to function, neglecting her and their 2 kids.

I think the drama is incredibly realistic, with Trisha playing the negligent wife/mom but getting incredibly angry and jealous seeing a new woman hanging around Deb.

The acting is good, the script is passable, I'm not really sure what some people expected from an independent film with this premise.

Maybe I'm grading on a curve because it's a indie film but I think it's good.
