Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: How to Defeat Golden Hippopotamus
Image
Here is a quick guide on how to defeat Golden Hippopotamus in the latest FromSoftware expansion. The Soulslike genre has a reputation for making difficult games paired with overpowered bosses and this optional boss battle is no different.

Beating the Golden Hippopotamus is not impossible; however, it requires great patience and skill to get the best of this beast. The player base must have a great balance between power and speed to get through this combat encounter.

How to Defeat Golden Hippopotamus? The Golden Hippopotamus is an optional boss battle that is worth fighting.

FromSoftware is notorious for designing massive enemies that can pack a punch. The Golden Hippopotamus can be found in the central courtyard of Shadow Keep and it is not a difficult boss once you get a gist of his attack patterns and have a decent build.

It is best to have the Antspur Rapier equipped with the Seppuku Ash of War,...

Hippopotamus (2018) Review
Image
Being a lover of independent horror, it’s always great to find a lesser known film lurking on Prime video, and Hippopotamus was one such recent discovery.

The film, directed by Edward A. Palmer, emerges with a premise that might initially lead one to dismiss it as yet another entry into the well-worn captive-girl subgenre. Yet, this film, operating on a micro-budget of merely $5,000, surprises and subverts expectations, demonstrating that innovative storytelling and strong performances can often eclipse high-budget extravaganzas.

Hippopotamus opens with stark simplicity: a young woman named Ruby (Ingvild Deila) awakens in a sterile basement, her knees severely injured, rendering her immobile. Her captor, Tom (Tom Lincoln), soon appears, laying down the chilling premise that she will remain his prisoner until she falls in love with him. This scenario, redolent of many a horror and thriller, sets the stage for what one might expect to be a tale of torment and psychological manipulation.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree - All Nameless Mausoleum Dungeon Locations
Image
The Realm of Shadow in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree holds many secrets, with bosses scattered across every crag and crevice. Finding all four Nameless Mausoleums will not only see you facing some of the toughest mini-bosses the Dlc has to offer, but the game also rewards you for your efforts. As the Mausoleums are nameless, they're commonly referred to by the cardinal direction they lie in: North, East, South, and West.

Each of these Mausoleums can be challenged at any time (as long as you've been to the area) but have recommended power levels so as not to provide too grueling of a fight. All you need to do to get started is to begin the Dlc. The bosses here are by no means the hardest bosses in Elden Ring, and one can be fought as soon as you enter the Realm of Shadow. Once you arrive at the Realm of Shadow,...

John Jencks’ Promenade begins filming in Brighton
John Jencks
Promenade, a new film from John Jencks, has begun production in Brighton this week. More on the film below.

We’re hearing rumbles that a new British film is heading our way sooner rather than later from director John Jencks. The Hippopotamus director is helming Promenade, a Brighton set whodunnit, next and the project has just started filming, we hear.

The announcement comes with an ambiguous tagline: “50 Cast, 12 Stories, 1 Plot. No Heroes.” Colour us intrigued.

Here’s a synopsis for the film: In Brighton on the South coast of England, sharpened by the sting of sea spray, and mellowed by numinous light, a tight-knit community of oddballs and heart-felts live together in a tatty old mansion, the Fletcher Apartments. When a golden feather, the priceless antique mascot of the building, unexpectedly disappears, the residents have a mystery to solve. Will they find the talisman that previously bound them together, or will their community,...

How The Mill Expands One of Horror's Most Popular Subgenres
Image
Horror has plenty of sub-genres. Everyone has their favorite. Are you a fan of the 80s slasher flick? Do you prefer a Saw-like torture film? What about a comedy/horror like Cabin in the Woods? But there is a genre that has been growing, just below the surface, for years. The idea of being trapped in an enclosed space is something that a lot of people would like to avoid. Their paranoia and claustrophobia mean that even talking about it can lead to awful thoughts and even physical responses.

This might be why the trapped space horror genre is so damn bone-chilling. There is no escape. Hulu's latest horror flick, The Mill, does an excellent job of expanding the genre.

The Mill Is Just the Most Recent

The Mill stars Lil Rel Howry (Get Out) as Joe, a man who wakes up in his business suit, confused and unsteady...
