So Much Depth, Customization, and Adventure

Terraria is a bastion of the indie action-adventure genre. It's simplistic 2D appearance masks the detailed expanse of endless content that has been tweaked and refined by its developers over years and years. There is so much to do even at the start of the game, and as you pick up momentum, like a snowball rolling down a hill, the potential of things to do just keeps on growing.

While being slightly challenging to keep up with the massive item pool, progression is made a lot smoother thanks to the fully complete wiki that you can always rely on. Each time you find a new item while exploring its unique biomes, dungeons, oceans, and cloud islands new possibilities are unlocked. Combat encounters never gets old with over 523 total critters and enemies. The cherry on top to that cake is over 30 iconic boss fights.

It is heavily recommended to play Terraria on PC or at least with a mouse and keyboard on consoles.

Such a great game and would recommend it for anyone looking for a great adventure!

Terraria is a great game with one goal in mind and a bunch of other things to do. All I can say is that everything that you do is optional and if you want to beat it quickly - you can - but if you want to savor the experience, which I recommend, there is just so much to offer from building, exploring, fighting, collecting, it's all there.

The controls are challenging at first if you have never played it before, it was all over the place (I played it on console) so what I did was adjust it which made it easier.

Also, the weapons that you get in this game are incomparable to any other weapons in any sandbox game. You start with an incompetent and in the end, end up with a weapon that's well worth your time.

Most of Terraria is generally choice. You can literally do anything you want. And that is why I recommend it for anyone who has got a chance

Crisp graphics, slick gameplay and very good music

Comparing this game to Minecraft would be an injustice to Terraria. Mine craft was a vanilla experience with no clear goal however some excuse for a goal was added in later with expansions although there is no incentive to do them.

Terraria on the other hand is a game in which there is a goal, a very well defined goal which comes with it a reward for yourself but the difference is that despite there being the promise of more xp and better equipment you don't have to. It's the narrative game without the pressure or the story as you are encouraged to make it as you go along.

So the scene is set, what about the gameplay, the graphics, the music? Well all are good. The game is played from a 2D perspective taking on a pixel art design for the world and fonts. Although not particularly fresh looking, the contrast in colours between corrupt and normal areas is interesting and watching a world slowly decay gives a sense of loneliness to the game. But then you get dynamite and it's all ok.

I will say that after you've played a few worlds you will start to get a plan going. For my chums and I we build a small house and get to work on a hole straight down to the bottom of the map ready for boss fights.

You collect resources by mining, collecting or killing, you have a nice big inventory with a quick select bar. You move with the keyboard and point at what you want to interact with. The crafting menu is a list of all the available crafting items so there's no need to look up on a wiki to see what arrangements these wooden blocks need to be placed in.

Weapons are interesting too as you can also get magical weapons, I often play magical classes and I approve of this addition.

The music is a part of this game that really shines, each track is really well produced and changes based on what is happening in the world at that time. Changing biome, rain starts, boss appears it's all there. The soundtrack can be found on bandcamp if you want to sneak a listen.

So all in all terraria is a good 2d side scrolling sandbox game with as much or as little as you want in the game. Make your own story

    One of my favorite games

Terraria is a 2D game released in 2011. A lot of people who haven't even played the game call it a ripoff of minecraft, but as someone who actually experienced the game, I can officially say that it's much more than that.

For starters, Terraria has a lot of depth. There are many different ways to play the game, and lots of content in general. Hundreds of creative weapons, cute pets,. And awesome accessories keep you hooked as you try to collect them all.

You can make yourself as overpowered as you want in the endgame, but you start with almost nothing. It's fun to make progress in the game, slowly making yourself more powerful.

This game also has many, MANY pop culture references. You can fight a ninja slime with a bow that shoots flaming bats while wearing a creeper costume and riding a goat from hell!

If that doesn't sound fun, I don't know what is.

And finally, the game has a MASSIVE and very active community. Every day new videos, fanart, and mods are pumped out at alarming speeds.

Ah yes, the mods. There's tons of them!

The game already has lots of content, but the mods sometimes make terraria into an even better game than it was before. New bosses, mechanics, OP weapons, what's not to love?
