I was lucky enough to see this film before its official release and a few times since! As compelling and convincing an argument for a plant-based diet that has even been filmed. Taking many of the same ideas seen in Forks Over Knives (also featuring Dr. T. Colin Campbell), PlantPure Nation explores more personal journeys of Dr. Campbell and his family as well as numerous individuals exploring the PPN Jumpstart Program. Along the path to better health, the documentary proves the healthiest diet for humankind is whole- foods plant-based.
Must see for anyone who struggles with chronic health issues, PlantPure Nation will stand the test of time as the nation, and world, begins to acknowledge that the Standard American Diet is simply not sustainable.

Medical experts have known that higher proportion of fruits, vegetables and fish, and less meat and dairy, less grains is more healthy since the ancient Greeks. There are literally treatises from 2,600 years ago saying this.
But this film is pseudo-science because it: a) implies that any meat or dairy is bad for you when in fact ALL the peer reviewed studies show moderate amounts have NO negative health effect. And that people who eat small to moderate amounts of meat (as part of three our four meals out of 21) are HEALTHIER than VEGANS. In fact we now know that corn fed vs grass fed is the issue. Grass fed and high omega eggs result in lower bad cholesterol and higher good cholesterol levels than total vegan diets
Same with dairy. Women who get moderate amounts of dairy are less likely to develop osteoporosis when all other factors (starting bone density, exercise levels, several genetic factors known to influence bone density) are controlled for.
b) it is GRAIN consumption that is virtually always bad. Even regular whole grain consumption increases rates of tooth decay, diabetes rates and colon cancer. Brown rice and whole flour raise rates of those pathology's a bit less than the elevated rates in white flour and white rice, but 90% of the harm is still present in those grains. If you are going to consume carbohydrates, in fact certain vegetable oils, and potatoes without junk in them are much much better for you than grains
c) The makers of this film leave out the fact that high omega fish consumption 3-5 times is much healthier than strict vegan no fish diets.
All evidence is that MODERATION in consumption of everything is the key. having some pate once a month, or a lamb-burger twice a week along with chicken twice a week is better than any obsessive diet.

This film is a wonderful testament to the power of a whole foods plant-based (WFPB) lifestyle to prevent or turn around the ravaging health effects of the standard American diet (SAD) centered around meat and dairy consumption. People across the globe are becoming aware of the impeccable science that Dr. T. Colin Campbell and many others have set forth to guide us as we make our future nutritional choices.
As with the tobacco debate twenty years ago, Nelson Campbell demonstrates in this film that there are powerful political and financial interests vested in keeping the status quo of ever more sick and debilitated citizens.
Of course, the transition to a WFPB lifestyle will require seismic shifts in our world's economy – but all to the betterment of human, planetary and animal health.
As they say, "The truth is a stubborn thing – it does not go away".
