Vai Raja Vai

Somewhat Good Movie. Gautam Karthik and everybody acting was good in the movie. The comedy scenes in the movie were also good. Songs and BGM in the movie were also somewhat good. The movie has a good story but the movie lagged a lot and bored in 2nd half.

Disappointed

After reading the plot from the IMDb I was so desperate to watch the movie. But the film didn't brought me the thrill I expected but a massive disappointment. I wouldn't say that the film is a total waste of time but it could have been a way better one depending on this very interesting plot. Disappointed This film is not entirely a comedy film; not a romance film either; Action film? no way! Then what is it? I had this question through out the period while I was watching it. Yet I couldn't find a proper answer even after it ended. It is just a story with no real direction. A little love there; a little love here and some boring jocks and equally boring songs and action scenes but no real base story I could find. Mrs. Aiswarya did a much better job in her previous film. I though she could be a great director one day after watching 3. But this proved that she has a very long way to go even to come near that goal.

Vai Raja Vai (U) TAMIL ----------- my Rating: ★★★★ COMMERCIAL ENTERTAINER

STRENGTHS:- * Story Screenplay and Direction was different.... * Costumes and looks were Stylish.... * Music and BGM * Daniel Balaji's performance...

WEAKNESSES:- * Casting: Gautam Karthik performance was average....

FINAL VERDICT:- * Overall... it is a clean entertainer with a great story, especially the second half was very fast with a surprise at the end. I recommend for a must watch thriller.

A man with the power of intuition gets into gambling.

A good entertainer that drags towards its end

Let me start off saying that this film is very under rated. Its a very feel good entertainer which has the right commercial elements along with an engaging story line with ESP at its core. After a more serious and sensitive movie '3', Aishwarya indulges in a more commercial film here. But the comedy (led by Vivek, Sathish and co), the superb music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the engaging screenplay (more on the issues in second half coming up in the negatives) and the technical aspects make this film very entertaining. Gautham Karthik is good though his inexperience shows in places. Priya Anand is eye candy and so is Tapsee. Vivek, Satish and co are a riot. They hold the first half brilliantly. Yuvan's music is a huge plus, with the "Pachchai Vanna" being the highlight. But the 2nd half falters. The film goes almost haywire. The Dhanush cameo in the end looked forced, in order to please the front benches. But overall, a nice film for a weekend time pass.
